Today

I’m bored. It’s grey and sucky out which should come as no surprise since the long weekend is almost here. At least there is no snow in the forecast.

I have a lot of things I could be doing…laundry, putting away laundry, sweep & wash floors, un-pack the last 2 boxes from our move 2 months ago (!), sort recycling, finishing Parkers room…..none of these are appealing to me. But I look over to little boy in his swing and see that he has fallen asleep…this would be a really good time to get some of these things done. I will wait for a bit then move him to his crib and see what I can get done.

I can hear Dr Oz in the background…something about finding feces on new undies bought at a department store…SICK!!! I am not a fan of this show, but it seems to be on my TV every day at this time. Over the 6 months I was off work before Parker arrived I think I watched every episode of everything else that is on at this time…Wedding SOS, Till Debt Do us Part, 19 Kids and Counting, Little People Big World. I watch too much TV plain and simple.

I wanted to get us out for a walk today, but it has just started to rain. I know we need the moisture though, so I wont complain.

On a totally different topic than what is going on today…there is something wrong with this keyboard. I cant use the apostrophe key – it makes this instead… è. WTF?…there is something that I do everyday that causes this – some crazy sequence of key strokes that makes the keyboard read special characters rather than what is labelled on the key. Its irritating and probably makes it look like Im a grammatical idoiot. Oh well. Nothing a reboot wont fix. But it will only be a matter of minutes before I hit some unknown key combo that causes this. I wonder if there is anything on the internet about this? Note to self…mjust google.

We have no plans for the long weekend which kind of sucks. I used to love May long weekend – it was Party Time!!! Beer gardens, baseball dances and just general shenanigans….it has been a long time since then. Funds are really tight in our house right now, so we are not going very far at all. In fact, my truck registration expired at the beginning of this month and I dont have the money right now to get it updated. So, I shouldnt even drive at risk of picking up a ticket for it. My mat leave benefits come in on Tuesday…Ill do it then. But until then I think Id better leave it in the garage which means unless I walk somewhere I wont be going anywhere until then either. Robs car doesnt have a car seat base in it. Plus its kind of a small car – I am not comfortable in it after driving the Explorer for the past 2 years. I dont know how it would have been with a baby and all the paraphenalia that comes with it if I was still driving my Cavalier. One thing that would be better though…no $400 car payment for the next 3 years. I hate having a vehicle payment after not having to pay for my Cavalier after the bankruptcy. That was a nioce break from that type of responsibility.

I dont have much else to day today actually… guess Ill just make note of my WW committments for this week and get cracking on that list of things to do as un-fun as they are.

This week I will:
 – Eat breakfast at least 4 days out of 7
 – Again, I will take it one day at a time
 – Again, weigh and measure everything
 – Start meal planning this weekend for the week coming up and use the food we have in the house so I donèt go crazy on groceries again!!!
