See Blossom…See Blossom Run…Run Blossom Run!
And you thought you were all through with Kindergarten reading material…..hah!
My poor goofy Blossom (you remember her – the undersized,underintelligent, Miss Incongeniality winning Shar-Pei?) has suffered for quite some time with an ailment in her hind quarters. I’ve started giving her glucosamine and she is getting other vitamin supplements to improve her overall health. Still…..the pain is bothersome.
My sis works with energy medicine. Quite a bit. She does all kinds of woo-woo stuff. Really. Don’t ask me to explain. But it works.
SOOOOOOoooooooooooo… last night after Sis had come over & eaten dinner, we sat down on the big comfy U-shaped sofa to chat. Sis is on one leg of the “U” and I on the other. And poor dear misguided Blossom wanders in and stands between us. She was most likely looking for a leftover scrap or two – just in case.
Sis reaches down and places her hand over the sorest part of Blossom’s rump. Seeing what she was doing AND knowing that my dog has all the loving temprament of a heroin addict in dire need of their next fix… I reached down and began to scratch her head. (Blossom’s head – Sis was fine – really!)
WELL! You shoulda seen it! Blossom got this REALLY surprised look on her face. Then she looked at Sis as if to say “what the heck is going on back there?” I started talking to Blossom in sweet lovey-mushy-baby-puppy talk – all the while still scritch-scratching her head. (She loves getting her wrinkles scritched). Then it happened.
Blossom Belched. Then she put the leg which she had been favoring down. A theraputic release? hmmmmmmm… Apparently feeling a bit better, her highness (Blossom – not Sis. Sis is her majesty!) began to lick my hand. And her tail began to wag. Maybe wag is too ambitious a word for what her tail does. See, it’s kind of a curlique piggy tail and it actually rotates in circles – kind of like a wind-up toy. But, for the sake of clarity, let’s CALL it wagging. ANYWAY the tail is wagging and the tongue is licking.
Point of clarity: Blossom rarely wags more than one or two turns of the tail AND she NEVER licks people’s hands more than one little slurp (just to get an idea of the flavor). But there she was…licking and wagging.Both ends engaged in some sort of action at top speed.
Sis moves her hands a little. Blossom pauses mid-lick/wag and looks over at Sis suspiciously. But then the enrgy flow must have kicked in again…and the licking and wagging resumed.
This went on for 20-30 minutes…with sis pausing periodically to clear the pain from her hands and Blossom only pausing her new lickwaggle when Sis moved. The whole scene was surreal. It was funny. Blossom looked like one of those little wind-up dogs that wags and yips and wiggles when you turn the key.
But there was soon trouble in Paradise.
“OOOOohhhhhhh!” says Sis
“What?!!” cries SW.
“Blossom’s getting a bad cramp and…”
We were never to find out what and… meant. The cramp must have hit home and Blossom simultaneously quit all lickwaggle activity, plopped her butt down AND gave Sis a warning growl. Then she walked off a couple of steps and did the s-t-r-e-t-c-h manuver we all know about using for cramps with her back half.
So…Sis thanked Blossom for letting her work. Blossom declined to reply. Then Sis asked if she could work some more on her later. Blossom declined to reply. Then I asked Blossom if she wanted to eat. Hah! I KNEW I’d get a response on that one!
Bottom line? Today Blossom is moving around with much more ease than she has been. She’s back to normal licking and wagging behavior. I think she feels better…
So here’s the deal. Sis is looking to get a practice started up… I think she should work on animals. Of course, she’s not TOTALLY fond of animals… but we’ll convince her! How can you resist licking and kissing and wagging? Really!
So I’m gonna advertise for her…and collect the fees… and manage the appointments….
How long do you think it will take her to notice that all her patients have 4 legs, fur and speak in “tongues”?
LOL!!!! Awwwwwwww…… Can I send the problem child to her? Like, NOW?

Cool! I may have to bring Ry down for a visit…and me…and Madie….and Steve….and Chass(had his knee rebuilt after being run over by a semi in1998)…jacknifed and sheared the roof off his Toyota Supra…11 car pile up…Chass was the tenth car…pea soup fog…then we can go hang out on the beach in our lovely purple and blue suits and sing, hey, hey….***grins***

I am despatching Dr Doolittle to you immediately to check up on Blossom. This dog is suffering from a split personality no doubt!Or a lack of alcohol. Try a dose of whisky. so either i need some training in this, (where the heck is the teacher, this “teacher will show when you are ready is making me more impatient. *grin*). Woo-woo stuff? Hmmm! This is very deep. By the way God scares me too but then so does Huckleberry!
