BOO!

There is really not much point in trying to do any constructive work in the classroom either today or tomorrow.  Today the kids are all thinking about Halloween….and tomorrow they will be so hopped up on sugar that they’ll literally bounce off the walls.  I’ve already informed my classes that Ms. Wolf will CONFISCATE any candy she sees tomorrow.  AS IF they need to munch it all day at school.  *shudders*

Small dilemma.  There is a child at school who is a real "case".  Control is not a word he knows in any form.  And he is so short – suffers from the teenage version of "small man" syndrome.  He will pick a fight with any person at any time.  He requested my class for this year…and I am a little ashamed to say I requested that he be kept out of my class because he is so volatile.  I mean  – really.  We DO use sharp knives at times and I would never be sure with him.  Today his regular teacher was out and the sub couldn’t handle him so the principal sent him to my room – for 3 class periods!  He likes me so they figure he’ll behave.  Wrong.  OH MY GOD!  Or maybe that WAS his version of good behavior.  UGH!  And tomorrow his teacher will be out again…….Maybe I’ll stay home as well.  There has to be a special place in heaven for the teachers who actually can deal with this child every day.

But on to the fun stuff.  I found THE most amazing recipe for White Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies (with cream cheese icing!)  The kids made them for a fall festival we had last week and everyone RAVED about them!  I didn’t gloat at all.  Not much anyway.  OK.  I limited my gloating – a little.  I love it when my kids shock the heck out of people!  Why is it that even the people that teach these kids all day cannot believe their accomplishments?

Don’t they look yummy?  They were!  (That’s my final bit of glaoting.  Really.  At least for today…)

Since the kids were not about to do any work today, we made Mashed Potato Ghosts decorated with Red Hots and Twizzlers.  hehe  They surprised themselves when they had a lot of fun doing this.  Playtime is not just for elementary school!

Cute kids…cute ghosts.  Oh – they boy in the back on the left… his is a ghost bomb.  Gotta love ’em!!!

Cassidy and Kya were having a love fest with each other tonight.  They’re so cute!!!

Not many trick or treaters tonight.  I was surprised.  Last year we had quite a few!  Still, Chickie’s first solo attempt at pumpkin carving went over pretty well.  One mom even had her kids stand by the jacko so she could take their picture by it.

And on that note…I’ll wish everyone a Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!

I do not know how teachers retain their sanity to begin with, let alone when they have to deal with short boy. I am not looking forward to sugar day.

Can his regular teacher actually handle him or does she not have much of a choice. Gina always ends up with the kids no one wants and its mostly because she is low woman on the totem pole.

I didn’t do a pumpkin this year as I really didn’t want to think about that date… and missed most of the trick or treaters because the hearing went on so long!!! I LOVE hallowe’en usually as well!
