NoJoMo Day6

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am thanking God above that election day is almost OVER!!  I am sick to death of the commercials, the mud-slinging, the ugliness….this election has been a nasty one.  And no, I’m not saying who I voted for.

I used to work with a lady named Cindy.  She’s a paralegal, and she is truly one of the smartest people I know.  Very intelligent, well-spoken.  I really thought a lot of her……until she posted the following on her Facebook page last night:

A very insightful analysis by my friend Mike Morgan

Tomorrow, I vote for Obama, because I love my country. Those of you voting for Rom-lies, think about his $77,000.00 tax break for owning a pony (double my income last year), and his fascination with providing jobs to the Chinese (or haven’t you followed his professional and business history?), and his pockets full of promises about 12 million jobs, with no specifics (when, as governor of Massachusetts, the state ranked 47th out of 50 states in job creation), and his sidekick, telling you that the President is taking away your religious freedom ( while Romney and Ryan are demanding that everyone be governed by their own belief system). Think about cuts in education, cuts in programs for children, cuts in programs for seniors, cuts in programs for women, no more Medicaid, increased spending on the military (which the Pentagon does not even want), and then console yourself with the fact that at least you’re not voting for (gasp!) an African-American!

I read that last sentence, and honest to God, my blood started to boil and steam came out of my ears!  This person, this friend of hers, Mike Morgan, basically said that if you DON’T vote for Obama, then you’re a racist.  OMG….my blood pressure is going up again just writing about it.  How fucking dare this idiot, someone who doesn’t know me, let alone every voter in the United States of America, imply that if we don’t vote for who HE thinks we should vote for, well then, we obviously did it because he’s black!  And Cindy….this person who I thought was so fair and open-minded…I’m shocked as hell that she’s behind what this idiot said.  I guess it’s true that you never really do know a person……

The right to vote is just one of the many beautiful things about living in this country…..and NOBODY has the right to judge, lecture or ridicule another person because of who they do or don’t vote for.  It’s called respect…..respect for a person’s choices.  And in some cases, like when it comes to who someone votes for, it’s called "mind your own your fucking business."

End of rant.  I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day….much love! xoxo
