I’m contemplating thinking about thinking…

My hair is curly. I put it in rags and it really worked! It was very curly yesterday, and its still pretty curly today, if a bit wild. But never mind, wildness is good.

My bloody camera got nicked last night though. I am not impressed. And we can’t claim for it on insurance either, for some reason. It was sooo expensive and took me ages to save up for and had some really nice photos already on the film too.

As a result of that and general grumpiness I have been wandering around the house in my pyjamas alternately snapping, complaining and bursting into tears. I read Little Women earlier too, which didn’t help with the whole crying thing. That book doesn’t just make me a bit sad, it actually has me sobbing my eyes out. It’s just SO upsetting when Beth dies! I might have to watch the film later too. Work you say? What work..?

I’m thinking I didn’t get that job at Sanity. The fact that I told the interviewer that his techniques were manipulative and that I wouldn’t feel comfortable pressuring small children into buying things obviously has nothing to do with it. The bastard hasn’t phoned me back to tell me I haven’t got it either, which is pretty rude.

But hey, exciting news! The editor of the Camden New Journal called some of us (not me specifically, but I was with Rose when Hannah asked her to come along) to a meeting last Thursday. There were five of us – Hannah, Leonie, Rose, Me and Ellie (his daughter) and we all sat squished on the floor of his office, while he explained to us that he wanted to give us the opportunity to start a student newspaper, with an anti-war slant. The CNJ have always been anti-war, and have given some of the student strikes really good coverage. So, we’re starting this newspaper. The four of us (not including Ellie) are the editorial board, and we’re aiming to have the first issue out by 9th April, the day before Party for Peace in Parliament Square. It’s going to be so amazing. At first we’re going to distribute it only around North London schools, as amongst us we’ve got contacts in nearly all of them, but hopefully we’ll spread it to all of London, and eventually it’ll become a nationwide thing. And the fact that I’m involved in starting it up is just.. fantastic. I’m going to be interviewing Tariq Ali for one of the issues, and we’re also following up interviews with Ms Dynamite, Fran Healy, Chris Martin and some Arsenal footballer who said he’d go on strike if the war started. There are articles on student strikes, Boycott Brand America, history and background to the war, and lots of other really great stuff. The CNJ made it very clear that they’ll help us with all of the technical stuff, and pretty much hold our hands for the first few issues, but that it is our newspaper and we have to come up with ideas ourselves. They have a lot to deal with already, and don’t want to be too involved. We’re going to print about 1000 copies of the first issue, and see how that goes. Hopefully it’ll be fortnightly, and we’ll generate interest and support through it, as well as being able to publicise anti-war events. We don’t want to make it seem as if we’re taking ourselves too seriously though, and we don’t want it to be boring, because primarily it’s a paper for schoolkids. Anyway. I’m so excited.

Yesterday we all went to the Purple Turtle (where my fucking camera got stolen) and on the way back, somehow, I got into conversation with some girl on the bus (I think she started it by commenting on my silver locket which I was wearing) about the war, and student activity. She said she’d been at the student walkout, and I told her about the newspaper. We were talking all the way home, and she knows loads of the people who go to my school, and loads of Rose’s friends too, who used to go to Stokie. We swopped mobile numbers, and she’s going to do some kind of article for the paper, we hope. She texted me at about 1am last night to say that Rose had left her bus pass on the bus (we got off before her) and what should she do with it. I gave her Rose’s address and asked her to post it. Rose is such a fool. Love her to bits.

I was supposed to write a whole entry about how great Eilidh is, and that of course was my intention, but I’ve just got so much to say! But I’ll start now. Eilidh is great. Very great. And I didn’t know she still read my OD, but obviously so. Eilidh, I love you to bits! Hope your wrist is ok, you really scared us all. And see you on Monday, and I hope you remember that you’re booked for a week on Friday.

To TheHotOne – it still won’t let me save notes on your diary.. but we should just agree to disagree. And twister is great and should be played at every opportunity 🙂

I have to run off and make a Mother’s Day card now like the dutiful daughter I am. Feeling a bit more cheery too 🙂

lots of love

xxxxxxxxxxxxx’s & hugs (special hugs for Eilidh!)

Yay I get special hugs! I haven’t read for ages, but it’s nice to know y’all weren’t so drunk that you forgot about me. There was ALOT of blood, but only a teeny tiny cut. The bugger could have been just a little bit more impressive, but nooooo…I love you guys to pieces, and by the way, I so know you just want to be me with the curls – but that’s ok, I’ll let it slide. Email me soon, beyatch! E

I’m so impressed with the newspaper thing. You rule! I love you! I need your help: nowadays I seriously catch myself about to say something and then deciding not to in case I’m disagreed with. This isn’t me! Do something Em! I’m also impressed with you telling that shop-guy he’s manipulative. RA! for your ethics and courage. Don’t agree to disagree, dammit! Keep arguing! Love

Heyho! Guess what? I’ve gone and read every single one of your hundred and forty something entries. You should be proud of me. But don’t test me cos I’m not that sad and memorisd every single thing you did. I found that you and I have some similarities though. Play/played the violin, doing same chemistry course. OK 2 similarities then that might be due to coincidence. Bye!

Interesting stuff about the paper- hope it all goes well! 🙂 BTW- Why are all the w,x,and y’s in your entries a different shade of pink? Did you do that on purpose? If so, how did you do it? 🙂

People can be cruel. I’d be bloody ripshit! That newspaper sounds awesome, like ur diary, check mine out if ya want.

ryn: it was a bad phase. thank god!

Indeed, a holiday. In my dreams! I’ve been running around like … a thing that runs around doing work! As well as going out with Justin lookalikes! Alas it was one night only, and I’m not sure how he’s going to compare to the real thing on May 10th! Hows you anyway?

yay for newspaper!! wow that’s a really cool thing to be able to say you’ve been a part of, i really hope it goes well!! hate having stuff nicked… or being accused of nicking something that you haven’t taken, that’s what this guys doing to me about my friend, sounds kinda complicated! and yay i can update my diary again!! i’ve missed updating!! felt like i was neglecting people!! much love

The cure for everything is to spend an hour looking your best,go shopping like a madwoman go to a Subway, or McDonalds, and stuff your face. it’s the cure for everything. RYN- everything’ll be gravy, doll. Don’t worry about it. You’re beauty-ful 🙂

RYN: Yes, I got an OD, but that one isn’t working EITHER! LOL So, right now I am diary-less in both places! 🙂

Awww, sorry about your camera, my ‘puter got nicked a couple of weeks ago and that was bad enough, but personal pics can’t be replaced.lol, I’ve got natural curly hair and spend hours with the straightener, funny how we’re never happy with what we’ve got.

I tried to leave a note yesterday when my point was still in my head…but it wouldn’t let me. I agree with what you said, and what I wrote wasn’t my opinion as such, just that that’s what I think happens, not what should happen. It would be better to spend money on the 3rd world…but do you see countries like ours or America actually doing that? p.s. I like your rose…very pretty. 🙂

April 15, 2003

I was a vegetarian, not anymore, I gave in to bacon..hehe. I know what you mean about the getting acrried away thing…I always end up falling out with anybody about my opinions…but it’s all good fun arguing them, really.

April 15, 2003

I’m kinda scared about Ecuador…but I’m scared for another reason right now…although, it’s not a big deal. At least it won’t be after tomorrow morning. Yes, drunken arguments with men are rather fun…I always end up arguing about something obscure like poverty rates or something.

You read me wrong, missy. I said I remembered a time when me and Jimbo were in London. The time specified was over a year ago, when we were doing work experience in the big smoke. So wipe that offence off you! Huge love from

RYN: damn straight bubbles rule!! and what i failed to mention was that mark decided the water fight would be better with warm water but this was after he drenched me with cold water! and yes, in real life we’re a rubbish couple, worse than becky and brian but i’m just really great at writing the twisted truth… you don’t believe me do you?! take care my luverly!! love you!! x

you just dont get this war do you. its in the iraqi people’s best interest, and its in the worlds best interest. but you are a good writer, ill give you that 🙂 -the cheat

no, and the coalition forces are making sure the iraqi people arent bombed, yet there will be errors. and besides, theyre killed by saddam himself by the thousands. but im glad you support your troops, its better than some of the ingrateful american bastards that shouldnt even be allowed to EXIST lol jk ttyl -The Cheat
