Fighting for Peace is like Screwing for Virginity

…was the message on Alice’s placard. Demonstrations are just so great. And I think it’s especially important not to stop protesting just because the war has started. In fact, I think its more important now. We have to show Tony Blair that we still think his misrepresentation of the country and its wishes is a disgrace, and to both Blair and Bush that we are not going to just go away. So, I’m probably organising another walk-out at Friday lunchtime, hopefully Hannah is going to get other schools to do it too.

Anyway, the march was great. We ended up at Hyde Park, listening to all the speakers, who were fantastic. My placard, on one side said ‘Peace not War, People not Profit’, and on the other side said ‘You Bastards’. Rose made it for me while I sewed ‘PEACE’ on her top in beads and pink sequins. It looked so good, if I do say so myself. I was proudly carring my placard, and a policeman pulled me over and asked me ‘if I thought that kind of language was appropriate’. I said ‘Well, yeah’, when what I should have said with hindsight was ‘Well is the murder of thousands of defenceless citizens appropriate?’ upon which he told me to cover it up or I’d get arrested. I covered it up until I was past him, and then waved it with pride again. I tried to keep it turned away from policemen though!

Being in Hyde Park was lovely though, we lay around on the grass, and Rachel rolled us a joint and then I found Martha! And then we spent a looong time going home. We kept meeting people Rose knew on the way, and we saw Kierra and Ben (who looks much better since he got his hair cut) and their hands up for peace, and lots of nice people.

In the evening, we made pasta, and then smoked some more, and went out to the Purple Turtle. It only ended up with me, Rose, Rachel, Martha, Claire, Soph and Eilidh because we didn’t really arrange it properly with enough people. It was fantastic though – Rose, Rachel and I drank three jugs of cocktails between us. The best one was Sex on the Beach. It was so nice. Yummy. On the way home, we had a raging argument with some blokes on the back of the bus about the war. It started off relatively political, but ended up with me just screaming ‘You’re so fucking ignorant’ at the top of my voice, and Rose equally as vocal, and Martha just sitting looking vaguely bemused over in the corner.

When we finally got home, Martha went to bed and Rachel, Rose and I continued to smoke. It was so funny. I can honestly say I’ve never been that stoned. We were all sitting on my bed, and Rose said “Emily.. go, and bring as much food as you can find”. I was at that point where you’re so hysterical you can’t stand up. We decided to make pasta. That was funny. And then I decided I had to go to bed right then.

You know, I think you had to be there. But take my word for it, it was funny.

I slept for most of Sunday. It was such a beautiful day though, I went for a walk in the woods in the morning (still slightly stoned, I think) and then came home and passed out for several hours. I was soo tired.

So, all in all, a good weekend.

Does anyone go to school in London, or for that matter, anywhere? If so, ORGANISE A WALKOUT for FRIDAY 28th March, Parliament Square, or your nearest town/city centre. Come on people, lets get going with this! And not just for schools – Stop the War are calling for a general strike. Walk out of your places of work, schools, universities – let Tony Blair know how much we disagree with the course of action he has taken!

Anyway, politicisng over with, I have to go and play duets with Diane and her cello.. wish me luck 🙂

PS – D hasn’t texted me. Hmph.

PPS – I’d like to say that I haven’t had a cigarette for ages, and I’ve only had 4 since Shrove Tuesday. Even when Rose offered me one on Saturday (bad girl) I didn’t take it. Go me!

PPPS – I deleted the entry where I got the title wrong, and remade it with it right cos it was just annoying me TOO much. So, if you noted me on that one.. I’ve deleted it. Feel free to note me again.

I didn’t note you on the last one I don’t think, but I will on this one. The problem is that I forgot what this entry is about, as I read it ages ago. Hmph. So….. I went to Brighton! And drove past our youth hostel! And went in a Co-op and saw the runny custard (didn’t buy any though). And I didn’t walk to hangleton. Love you, Katyxx

See? You do too talk to people on the bus! LOL

Umm no I haven’t, what was it about…. oh and thx if there is anything I can think of that I don’t know, I’ll let u know KK !!! bye and thanx again ~Azla

Inspire me. I want to feel purpose behind my actions…I know, why is senseless killing and war not enough purpose to protest? There is one small rally in my town, but I don’t know what’s stopping me. Counsel me. What’s your stance? Besides stupid people shouldn’t breed or be president. (Not that that isn’t fitting, it is by all means…but you know…) Thanks for the note.

Hehe, nearly arrestified! I’m proud of you, girlie. *mwah* Only you should know, yelling never solves anything. It’s like the vocal form of violence – and we’s anti that y’know. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx again…

RYN: Well, I thought there would be more coming because of the “…” at the end of the note, but okay. What I meant when I said that the people will be better off was not that they are better off with bombs dropping on their country than they were before the bombs started dropping, but that they will be much better off after everything is over. When they have a government that doesn’t use

torture to punish its citizens for simple violations, allows its citizens to have the food and water necessary to survive, doesn’t use the wealth of the people to build massively outrageous palaces to live in, doesn’t threaten the entire region with WMD’s, and treats all of its people with dignity and respect. It will be hard while the war is going on, but it will be a relief once it is over.

Sounds like a rockin boppin good time. Sometimes I wish I still smoked…you make it sounds soooo fun. Hehehehhe… Glad you had fun. And right on for your efforts to stop the war! I commend you my friend.

no, its not – you must fight so you can have peace in the END. if you cant kill anybody, how are you going to stop one group from taking control of another? if you cant figure out we’re fighting for EVENTUAL peace, dont even talk about the subject -the cheat
