OMG…and the FUN goes on

SO…just when you think the fun is over and you can breathe again, something else happens to make you want to SCREAM.

I get a phone call today at work from the hubby asking me if I have heard from the boys today. I say no an ask why. Silly me, I should have known better to ask that question.  It seems that after school today, M (the 17 yr old) and his friends decide to go fishing at this little local pond. Before they go fishing, they decode to go to the local pizza place and get something to eat. They run into a friend..a girl…who says that she and another girl would like to go with them. So they call the other girls and she says yes I want to go. Son M says Ok after wwe take the food back to my house and eat, I’ll come pick you up. So they leave it that if she doesn’t answer the door, the boys are to WALK IN. So after they eat, they go out in the van to pick these girls up. when they get to her house, my son stays outside and the 2 others (boys) go up to the door and then walk in. A minute later some lunatic walking along the street goes flying into the house and starts screaming at the kids and pins them against a wall. They get away from her and go running out of the house..they later told hubs that she was totally uncontrollable and when they tried to explain who they were she called the police.

Seems with that phone call, she told the police that they burglarized her house!!! Somewhere along the way, my sons name gets picked out and now there are not 1, not 2 but 3 police cars at my house, along with not 1, or 2, but # freaking detective cars as well. And they are now questioning my 15 yr old child. Not only that, one officer also called my neighbor to tell her my son just broke into a house and did she know where he was. Llike how about calling a parent, you stupid idiot. And isn’t there a law that says you can’t question a minor w/o a parent being there, or at the very least giving permission?

So neighbor does get in touch with my son, who then comes home to find 6 freaking cars in the driveway. when they tell him what he DID, the girls with him says, that’smy house and they had permission to be there, I invited them over….the police don”t believe her. Meanwhile, 2 of the police cars leave my house and race over to the pond with lights and sirens on jump the curb, and surround the kids that are still fishing and bring them back here for questioning. Where am I you ask……at work…

End result…it was a MISTAKE.   Not to me it isn’t. How dare they accuse w/o even finding out if anything was taken? How dare they question my 15 yr old w/o parental permission? What’s with 6 cars being sent? I hate this town. Anything that happens will now be blamed on my son whether or not he was even in the vicinity.

So…..how was YOUR day?

I do think there’s a problem if the police aren’t contacting the parents FIRST. And hopefully only. Sounds a mess, glad it ended OK, and here’s to no more excitement for a while!
