Brittany Story
Brittany is now a beautiful 14 year old young lady who STILL has a heart of gold. Since she was born, there was something special aout her. I have aways called her my gift from God. Now don’t get me wrong, I love and adore my sons and yes ALL children are a gift from God, but there was something different about her. The way she looked at the world and the people in it. She has never been about herself, but always thinks of others.
One night after a particularly long long day home with the 4 kids I had a migraine and wanted to go to bed. Brit was about 6, so the others were about 8, 10 and 11. I was beat and just wanted to go to bed and sleep the headache away. I couldn’t sleep because my daughter was singing so loudly. I stormed into her room, with my fists curled into balls my fingernails digging into my palms and my mouth clenched tight. Through barely open lips I told her to be quiet and go to sleep and to stop the noise. As I turned to walk out of her room, this little tiny voiced pierced through the darkness and dispersed my anger with one little sentence.
"But Mommy, " she says, "I’m singing to GOD".
Humbled and with a repentant heart, I go back, kiss her and tell her to sing a little louder for me….. and walk out the door with tears in my eyes.
I went downstairs to take some tylenol and when I go back, she is fast asleep. I sit by her, kiss her again and say my own little prayer of thanks for this beautiful soul HE has gifted me with. When I get back to bed, my husband (who was also angry at the noise), says what was she doing it there, she better not start again. I look at him, and say,"she was singing to God and she can do it all she wants". Like me his whole body loosened and he too smiled and said, "not much you can do about that now is there, just let her sing…."
awww how cute!

It is amazing how a mother remembers all those times when a child melted her heart, no matter how bad things get you can always count on that to be true. Wonderful memories there!
