Where are they now

I’ve been on OD for some time, a lot longer than I realized. In recent years I’ve gotten bad about posting but am trying to get better. I know when I’ve gone back to read earlier entries, they always remind me of things I’ve forgotten. So yesterday I was looking at recent notes and saw that you can list them by person.  What an interesting experience that was.

Some of the names I’ve not seen in ages whose ODs have disappeared. Dreamseeker would recognize many of those. Two there had become a couple and later married. I used to also receive occasional emails from them not to mention an old Mike Schmidt baseball card they sent me. The husband was a big Red Sox fan but it seems that he no longer uses his aol address either. And that was just two of many.

Another interesting one still writes and takes excellent photos. We discussed her BF a bit and I was excited that they married. Since then though, we’ve lost touch. I leave occasional notes but never hear anything from her. Not surprising n a way. On a medium like this, you have to keep up with it or you loose track quickly.

I don’t think I’ve really thought of it this way but this is sort of an extended family and especially with a few of you, we’ve known each other a very long time. I’e seen births of kids (theirs or ones they have adopted for the most part), happy times and sad. You know who you are and I wanted you to know how much I’ve enjoyed that over the years.

I’ve recently added some new names to my favorites and I look forward to knowing you better. One I hope will start reading this OD as we noted eachother via my training one (also sparsly used these day).

Have a great day friends!

I have had some faves disappear over the years as well. I disappeared myself for a year or two and found some of my old faves, and I was happy for that. I have one of my faves who has a friend on here who recently passed away. It’s very sad, because we do sort of get to know each other through our writings, even if we never meet or speak, and to lose a fave is to lose a friend.

It like having all these really great pen pals!! I love it here.

I did that not long ago myself… Many of my old favorites no longer linked to a diary at all. Kind of sad knowing what a great community this is.

I’ve also had friends come and go in OD but then I’ve also had it happen in my life so it’s obviously a cycle we all experience one way or another. I’m very picky with my Fav’s and I think as a result, they have all stayed for long periods like myself. It’s great having you back I must admit! *hugs*

Aw, I’ve noticed you’ve been around a wee bit more! I’m glad that you are finding a rebirth of joy in it again. I tend to come and go, post a few times a week, sometimes more or less, but I always read daily. I don’t feel right if I haven’t skimmed my favs. RYN…Did you get snow too?

It’s kinda sad we lose touch with one another. I tend to worry about people if I don’t hear from them for so long. Thanks for telling me about this diary. xoxox

Oh, I see we have a mutual acquaintance of “SINsational”. 🙂 I “met” her on In the Wire. Ever use that site? I started out on OD though, and have been on here for years, but I like you went through periods where I didn’t write much or get on often, and I kinda lost track of people too. But, I’m getting back into it again because I’ve found I did really miss it.
