Weekend wrap up

Overall it turned to be a very fun weekend. The weather while hot was mostly dry. The band that was at the campground rocked and because there was a special event going on, the food vendor they brought in had these killer shaved potatoes with cheese and bacon. That and Italian sausages took care of us. It was a BYOB event so Linda made some margaritas and I had some beer. This was the first time we had kicked back in some time.

We got there a little later than I had hoped but still with plenty of time to set up our site and enjoy much of the day. As fate would have it, the site we ended up with was right across from M’s RV (boy was it huge) and even passed M on our way in. To my surprised, she stopped by shortly after in her golf cart and gave us a tour of the grounds. Very nice place; I can see why M likes it enough to spend almost every weekend in the summer there.

With M coming by and being very friendly, I thought that maybe I had read this all wrong. It was the first time that M and L had met and afterward, L said she really liked her. The rest of the afternoon we spent in the pool relaxing and later walked a trail together. It wasn’t until that evening when the band started playing that we saw her again. She was with her circle of friends that she’d known there for ages just a couple of tables down but never came our way. We later were up dancing as was she but that was it. She didn’t say anything. Later that night, we ended up at the RV of one of her friends who we met at the pool earlier. It was a little strange and other than something quick she said to L, we didn’t interact then either.

It wasn’t until yesterday (and some today) online that M and I talked and she shared just how uncomfortable it was. I guess she and her friends see the campground as their escape and outsiders from the "real world" ruins that for them. She asked that if we came up again, we try not to mingle with her group and was going to say something to them too. It’s part of something they all agreed upon a long time ago.

That really hit me weird though . I don’t know why it bothers me but it really did. But I did give M my word and told L all about it. Like me, she sort of understands but was disappointed too because we seemed to have fun with them.

Sometimes life is strange. Guess I need to just focus on the friends who like us being in their world.

That is bizarre…. Glad you had fun though!

Very strange.

That’s just insulting. I understand the need to escape the ‘real world’, but that doesn’t mean people have to be rude. However, in your case, since there’s a history of sorts, I can’t say that it’s surprising…

First, HEY!! It’s always so great to see an update from you!! Now – she tried to tell you who you couldn’t interact with? That is incredibly uncomfortable and odd. I’m glad ya’ll had a great weekend depsite her being there. 🙂

So, are we going to see more updates from you again? Pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top? *lol* RYN: I am a student through Capella University. They’re located in Minneapolis, but it’s all online. They’re accredited and seem to be a good school, and even came recommended. They even offer programs of study in order for you to prepare to get a license upon completion. Not sure if I want

to go that route, as it would take a LONG time to complete the program, not to mention would cost an arm and a leg…but my currently going for a Master’s in Counseling.
