How did I get that grade?

So with all my eye injury excitement, I had to take my final later that week. That same day I had to turn in our project work and make a private presentation on it to my prof. Of course this all came only hours after seeing the eye specialist and worry about my pupil dilation.

The exam itself was much like the midterm, doable but way too hard. I needed another 20 minutes or so to really finish it. I made some quick guesses so to make sure I had something on every question. I learned later than the exam itself was different from the one the others took. I have to admit I was impressed that she did that. The presentation went fine although I was concerned that ours wasn’t flashy like many of the others.

The university has a course management system which includes areas for grades. Days went by and nothing. In fact, she never even put our midterm exam grade there. The only ones that had been recorded were from some homeworks. The last day to submit grades came and went and still nothing could be found on that site. We were all getting pretty agitated by the whole thing. Honestly, all I cared about was getting a B at this point. That is sort of like getting a C in an undergrad course. I just didn’t care any more.

Finally on a different site which just shows students their course grades, I found mine. Somehow, which is beyond me, I got an A. Still don’t know how I did on the exam or project but they must have been okay. I reminded myself that it is not necessarily how well I did overall but how I compared to others in the class. I am going to take this grade and run. One 1 class remaining before the thesis stuff. I am ready to be done.
