toplayalongathome: gimmebackmybrain therapy?

It’s hard to break a bad habit, but far too easy to drop a good one. I got away from reading OD every day, and suddenly – ka-pow – six weeks have gone by. Now I have a lot of catching up to do.

In retrospect, I know how this happened. I usually keep up on OD from work during the slow moments. Which is why I read almost daily, but don’t always post — sometimes I don’t have the time or concentration. Other times I am concerned about the Lords of IT somehow capturing what I write. So the intimate stuff doesn’t get posted from here. If at all.

I spent a week on vacation at Gen Con, and when I came back to work, it was officially Busy Season — more shit to do than I could effectively shake a stick at. Not Sparta – madness.

So, a few weeks go by, and I get this hmmmm itching at the back of my brain. What am I forgetting? I’ve left something undone.

Well, I finally remembered what that was. Now I have to work on making it a stronger habit. It meaning YOU. I missed some of you.

And I have a lot to write about in the coming days. A quick list, partially to tease you, but mostly to remind me:

– Gen Con

– my Chicago adventure and the subway

– MacAllan and tasty, tasty mead

– C&W’s Dr. Seuss wedding

– Ren Faire and leather

– howling desperately at the fall not to come

I think it also might be time to drum up a new avatar. The Goblin King is wearing a little thin on me. I’m surprised I’ve tolerated him this long. The man is playing with his balls in front of everyone, after all.

I want to hear about Ren Faire! And you actually have the same avatar as another favorite of mine, believe it or not.

Sorry, I just gave a very un-lady-like giggle-snort at your last sentence. *giggle*snort* One of the reasons I haven’t been on here in four months is because the Lords of IT at my work have deemed OD a “social site” and as such, has been blocked. I have found a way around them though – IT Diva stumps IT Lord any day of the week. *nods*

RYN: THANK YOU – will you PLEASE tell Dyfais that the damn deck needs to be sealed??!! He keeps insisting that it is treated wood so it’s fine. I keep insisting that I’m going to kill him. And around and around we go! Seriously though, I plan on re-sealing it in the spring – hate to leave it undone during the winter but I just don’t think I’m going to have time to do it before the weather turns cold.
