Christmas will be here soon!
Will you be getting a lump of coal for Christmas?
Well it’s almost Christmas time. I’m pretty excited about it since it’s going to be Braeden’s first Christmas. Even though he’ll only be 7 months old and won’t really know what’s going on it’ll still be fun. We got him one toy. Yep just the one. Everyone looks at me crazy when I tell them that. He’s only 7 months old he’s not going to remember whether we got him a million toys his first Christmas or not. Besides he’s got grandparents and great grandparents that are going to spoil him rotten this Christmas so I really don’t think it’s going to matter that much. My husband and I decided not to exchange gifts with each other this year. Neither of us really wanted anything. So what does my husband do? Yesterday while waiting for me to get off work, he wanders around the mall and buys things! He bought this really pretty crystal sculpture that has penguins engraved in it because I collect penguins. He also bought Pirates of the Carribean 3, Spiderman 3, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It was really sweet but I could kill him because I haven’t bought him anything! Geez. Guess I better think of something fast.
We sent out a picture Christmas card to people this year. Well it only had pictures of Braeden on it, but that just made it cuter of course. I sent one to my husband’s father and stepmother. I didn’t expect anything in return. I mean we haven’t even seen them since last Christmas which was a total disaster. His father makes no effort to keep in contact with us. He’s never even seen his other two grandchildren (my husband’s sister’s kids). But I feel it’s important for him to see his grandchild whether or not he does anything about it. Well I get the mail today and notice a card with a return address that I don’t recognize but was from North Carolina. I opened it and lo and behold it was from his father. Thanking us for the pictures of Braeden and asking if we were coming down there for Christmas again this year. Totally baffled me. I never in a million years expected anything. I mean I sent them a birth announcement for goodness sake and never heard a word back. I’m surprised they even got the Christmas card since they had moved because there’s no telling how long ago they moved. The last time we were there they answered the door with "How’d you find us?" My husband said as we left they’d probably pack up and move again. He was right. I can’t understand not wanting to stay in contact with your family. I grew up in a big loving family and unfortunately my husband lived in a children’s home for 9 years. It makes me sad sometimes for him but he’s in my family now and they all love him. Anyhow. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas or a happy whatever it is you celebrate!
im not sure if i asked before but where are you from?

I collect penguins too! hehehe… and you know it’s true about the whole he won’t remember it. I mean, most times toddlers and babies are more interested in the bright colors of the wrapping paper or boxes more than what they actually get anyway. lol. I hope I don’t sound mean. I might get slaughtered for saying that. 🙂 Merry Christmas!
