Twisted Ankle

I seem to find this font size a little too big. Or is it the encoding on my home laptop? Anyway let me know if it is really too big.

I’m currently on medical leave now. Twisted my right ankle on Tuesday morning when I was going to work. I dont know why there was this little hole on the road. It’s ridiculous. I was alighting from my bus. I didnt step directly onto the pavement. I chose to step onto the road and I didnt notice the hole. So I stepped right in and fell down. The pain just shot up and the next moment I knew, I couldnt stand up at all. It took me a whole minute to struggle to pick myself up. Then I realised I couldnt walk! It took me ages to get to the bus stop seats and sat down. Then I realised my ankle had swollen. I thought I would be able to move after resting for a while but I was wrong. I still couldnt move as I couldnt rest my weight on the injured ankle. So I called J and he said he wld try to get off work to take me to see a doc.

I tried to call a cab so that I could get back faster. The cab which picked up my booking did not come after waiting for 20 minutes! And it started raining. Tell me how bad and suay can things get. I think I couldnt get much worse. In the end I waited at the bus stop for close to 2 hrs and J came in a cab to pick me up. The doc said it was a "severely twisted ankle" and referred me to hospital for an x-ray as he was afraid there might be a fracture.

Spent another 1-2 hrs at the hospital but luckily there was no fracture. The nurses said I was lucky. I think they were expecting some fracture coz it looked really bad. They bandaged my ankle up nicely and I was given 3 days mc to rest.

And so here am I at home. Today is the 4th day. I am supposed to go back to work but I’ll be extending my mc. Have yet to visit the doc. Think I’ll do that in the afternoon since now is already close to 1pm. After putting cold and heat pack (cold pack on first day, heat pack second day), the ankle is now less swollen. It still hurts when I move ard too much or stand too long. I have difficulty in climbing stairs. The blue-black patches are appearing.

I guess the only happy "people" who benefit from the whole episode are my 2 dogs. Coz they get to see me everyday from morning till night and they get to roam the whole house instead of only the kitchen. Lol.

What a way to welcome Christmas.
