continued and diggin’ it
I just got off the phone with Shannon again. I think we’ve been in daily phone contact (save for like one or two days when the kid was here with me and we decided in advance that we’d skip those days). Our conversations add a dimension to my life that I wasn’t sure that I’d ever have again. It’s a connection that exists outside of my immediate family and helps add to the illusion of existing somewhere outside of this apartment, too.
Did I tell you about the office treadmill that I bought so that I could go for “walks” without leaving this apartment and risking getting lost and exhausted out in the big wide world? I use it along with videos on YouTube of people walking or jogging on scenic trails and this one video I’ve found has some boppin’ techno music going along with it, too. I find myself sort of dance-walking along (sort of like strutting, but more careful ’cause it’s a short treadmill and I don’t want to fall over) ’cause it’s so groove-tastic. I can set the treadmill to run for a specific distance and lately I just round up the distance I used to run/walk around the town I was living in (it was a 1.68 mile circuit around my hometown) to a nice 1.7 miles on the treadmill and it will operate until the belt has travelled the 1.7 miles then automatically stop (with a gentle 3-2-1 slow-down after the time runs down so you’re not surprised with a sudden lack of movement). It’s all kinds of awesome and I’ve felt way better using my body in that way rather than doing nothing.
Uhhhhh…what else?
I have not been keeping up with my task list like I should have, but I’ve been doing all of the things on it and just not recording the data, so maybe I should take care of that right quick. There, I’m all caught up with recording what I’ve been doing with my spaceship on our big, wet rock.
It’s oh-so-exciting. I’m actually abuzz with all of the Shannon conversations I’ve had going. Makes life feel a certain kind of way.
One of these days I want to get a treadmill.
I want to walk to music.
@kittenklawz it is an awesome-feeling way to get exercise without leaving the house. I use an office treadmill made by a company called YAGUD that I highly recommend. and I walk on it listening to the nifty music in the walking videos on YouTube, but you could just listen to whatever, of course.
@squidobarnez Oh dang. No I want to get on my hoodie grab my phone and just use the elliptical I have rusting away (lolsob)
@kittenklawz Yeah, elipticals restrict my stride too much for my comfort so I’ve invested the $120ish on the office treadmill and I can’t say enough good about it. but if you’re comfortable using the eliptical then have at it! *high-fives-like-whoa*
@squidobarnez XD Or I will dance wildly to punk (mosh) on my own. XDXDXD I’m a big fan of punk and it’s energy.
