chuggin’ along is just how I roll

Random Thought Of The Entry:  Sezzie has just suggested (through mouthing the words "write an entry" and mime-typing with her hands) that I write an entry.

How’s things?

I’m doing pretty marvelously, myself.  It feels like I wrote forever ago, but it was only eleven days ago.  My brain "feels" time so differently as Jake 2.0.

Anyway, life’s been pretty freakin’ sweet for me.  I am ridiculously good at my job, and on Monday morning it was graphically obvious that I am the only one who really cares about the dishes being cleaned properly.  I noticed the first glass I washed was abnormally greasy, so I went and looked at the rack where all of the glasses are and every single one of them had this nearly-opaque layer of grossness on them.  This means that not only did the douche-nozzle dipstick that works weekends do a shitty job, it also means that the girls were ignoring the gross glasses all through last Saturday (a normal 7 AM-3 PM day) and Sunday (a 7 AM-Noon day) and giving them to customers.  I was livid, and showed Barb, and then I set up a pot of bleach water (because who knows what that muck was on those glasses) and rocked every single piece of glass back to its near-glowing see-through-shimmer.  And it only took me an hour of my morning, even with keeping up with the influx of dishes.

It was just so frustrating, but I’m glad I got everything back to awesome.

Ashley continues being the best thing ever, I love being her dad.  We spend the morning together most days (she likes to wake up and barge into the bathroom when I’m doing my morning pee and she says, "Daddy go pee!  Ashy go pee, too!" and she’ll sit on her little toilet with her diaper still on.  I’m thinking she won’t be terribly difficult to potty train, she’s very observant and loves to do things, so I reckon she’ll get the hang of all of that relatively easily.)

After that cuteness, I give Ashley some Cheerios and raisins in her high-chair and I eat my yogurt and almonds and drink my chilled-in-the-fridge-overnight coffee/cocoa beverage and just chill out to get the day rolling.

You know something?  I love looking at Sezzie.  She’s just so beautiful, and she seems to be getting more and more beautiful every time I look at her.  I’m forever grateful that she found me here.

I had a doctor’s appointment today with Dr. Newton.  I’ve lost another ten pounds since March, which is a solid sustainable loss, and he once again told me to just keep doing what I’m doing and I don’t need to see him again for another year.  I got a flu shot (advised since I work in a restaurant) and I just love going to the doctor and being told to keep doing what I’m doing.  That’s some easy-to-follow medical advice right there.

Tomorrow is Friday, and that makes me happy.

I hope you all keep on rockin’ in your lives.

Ha ha, you rock. Wait… that makes no sense. I’m glad you understood my wanting you to write. I liked the bit about Ash in the mornings. She is pretty damn smart, when she wants to be done with diapers it will just be the new way things are done. I try to explain the concept to her, and we both know she understands A LOT.

Great news from Dr Newton. Keep doing what you are doing! Well done!! I’m glad I wasn’t drinking from one of those glasses. I assume the coffee mugs etc were all ok. Why didn’t customers return the glasses and ask for a clean one? Maybe they were all washed in grease on Sunday after closing. Fingers crossed that no-one got sick or just grossed out. Ashley is pretty cute. Takes afterher parents. *giant squeezy hugs*
