Look Out For The Train!!!

I found this Associated Press story reprinted in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. I don’t do news stories very often, but I find this hilarious.

NANCY, FRANCE — A French anti-nuclear demonstrator was killed Sunday in eastern France when his leg was severed by a train carrying radioactive waste to Germany, a police official said.

The incident occurred farther down the rails from where two other anti-nuclear protesters had chained themselves to the tracks, near the town of Nancy, briefly delaying the train, rail officials said. At least one other protester was injured.

According to an early investigation, Sebastien Briat, a 21-year-old protester from the nearby Meuse region, died of injuries sustained when he and other activists were surprised by the train as they prepared to chain themselves to the rails, police officials said.

The train’s driver braked suddenly but was unable to avoid hitting the protester, the officials said.

About 12 miles up the rails in the town of Laneuveville-devant-Nancy, police intervened to cut the chains that two protesters from the activist group Sortir du Nucleaire (Out of Nuclear) had used to lock themselves to the tracks, officials said.

The train was delayed for about two hours before continuing its route from a reprocessing plant in western France to a rail terminal in the German town of Danneberg. It was carrying 12 containers of waste destined for a storage site in nearby Gorleben.

At least 4,500 people demonstrated Saturday at the radioactive waste way station in Gorleben, part of regular protests over concerns that the nuclear material is unsafe.

Really, I wonder what these retards were thinking (and I’m sorry, it really isn’t appropriate to include these people in the same league as mentally retarded people because retarded people have MUCH more brains than this).

“Hey, let’s chain ourselves to the train tracks. That way the train that’s carrying all this nuclear crap that we think is unsafe will HAVE to stop. There’s no way that massive vehicle that weighs hundreds of thousands of pounds will hurt us…”

Dumbasses.

When the guy was laying there looking at his leg that was detached from his body, do you think he was thinking, “Maybe this whole stop the train with my body idea wasn’t the best thing to do…..”? Or maybe he was pulling the Nathan Hale thing and thinking, “I regret that I have but one more leg to give to try and stop French nuclear waste from entering Germany.”

What do you think they expected to do with the train once they stopped it? Park it there in the middle of town with all that “unsafe” nuclear material on it? Turn it into some kind of anti-nuclear museum? Send it back to the city in France instead of letting the train take the stuff out of their country and off to Germany? Offload the cargo and take it to the town alchemist to render it safe?

Again…retards.

Personally, I’m glad the train ran the dumb fucker over. Maybe now all the protesters will focus their efforts on something much more deadly and dangerous than spent nuclear fuel. Now they can protest the use of those big, nasty, ugly, evil, deadly, trains.

One less environmentalist whacko in the world. That’s at least a little good news for the rest of us.

hehe, people really ARE dumb. I dunno why they’d think that chaining themselves to the tracks would do anything. You’d think they’d know that by the time the train would see them, that it wouldn’t be able to stop. I miss you.

ROFL! Holy Fu(k that’s funny!!!! Lol…. -can’t stop laughing-

Oh, this cracks me up. I think if you plan to chain yourself to a railroad line, you ought to think of possible consequences. I agree, though: If you’re that stupid, you ought to lose more than a leg. People. Work with me here…
