First Contact

Ok, so this is my first entry. Pretty freakin exciting huh?

I don’t really know what to write.

Today I went Christmas shopping (in a way), even though I’m not a fan of Christmas at all. In fact, I’m not really a fan of any holidays except Halloween. I dunno why, I just dig Halloween. Maybe cause it was always taboo when I was growing up. Or maybe because I dig the whole vibe of it more than any other holidays. I dunno. If I had my way though, I’d make every day Halloween (I know, I sound like Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas).

So anywhose, I ended up buying more stuff for myself than I did for anyone else. I bought the 6th season of Star Trek, The Next Generation, the 2nd season of X-Files, the new Korn and Slipknot DVD’s, a Stabbing Westward CD, and…..White Christmas (for my mom who doesn’t like movies made after 1965).

I was planning on buying a dishwasher for the whole family as a “family present,” but my sister’s boyfriend’s brother (how’s that for confusing?) is giving her one that SHE is giving as a family present instead.

Freakin crap!!!!! That means I gotta shop. I hate shopping. I hate being in buildings packed with other people. I am totally not a people person. At least not when I’m alone.

It’s different hanging out with other people cause you have a reason to ignore everyone else, but when you’re alone you either have to look at people or make a conscious effort to gaze at inanimate objects.

I think I prefer the inanimate objects though.

I also don’t know who started the stupid tradition of people giving each other presents for Christmas. In fact, I don’t even know why it’s a national holiday. The vast majority of America (even those who profess to be Christians) aren’t really Christians, at least not according to the Bible.

But anywhose, I don’t wanna get talking about religion and stuff in my first entry. God, I think about things like that too much as it is.

Well anywhose, I think I’ve written enough for the time being.

X-files and Stabbing Westward are good buys. I haven’t even bought anything yet. Like most girls, I love shopping but X-mas shopping sickens me. There’s just way too many people and things going on at the same time

Hey – thanks for the notes. I did all (and it was not a lot) my christmas shopping on line this year. I just look out on the porch and there it is – Christmas.
