Broadband Has Arrived and So I Can Show You Kites1
Hi Guys,
As You can guess broadband has arrived and thank goodness, we wer ebeing slowly driven mad by awfulness of dial up internet and now if Photobucket decides to work I can show you the wonders of an International Kite Festival, where it was too windy for anyone to fly kites, apparently it was the wrong kind of wind.
Anyway I will update more often now it is a sensible speed. On with my slides:
Here is the ‘world famous’ Clifton Suspension Bridge, designed by Brunel, it’s quite nice but I’m not sure what they are going on about.
Here is me in the middle of the bridge pointing at the view. When I said it was windy, it was also cold and wet, the perfect weather for spending the day outside…
Here is the view looking towards the city, it would have been really nice if it weren’t raining but we were determined to have a good day…
Bristol’s most famous residents have been frever immortalised in air creation form…
BOO… it’s a ghastly, ghostly kite…. WaaHaaHaa…. WaaHaaHaa…. Michael Jackson Thriller-esque noises…
Other things that were flying about in the sky included… a bear…
And lots of ites, here they are doing a mass launch of so called Delta (I think) kites, they were about the only kites that were standing up to the wind…
And here they are flying…
The sky looks awful, it didn’t rain all day but we got showers now and again, but to make up for that we got a pint from the world’s only inflatable pub, it was slightly disappointing, I was expecting space hoppers for seats and stuff but it was just an inflatable flrame…
There were a few demonstration and displays to music but by 5, we’d had quite enough of kites and were too cold, so we took a slow walk home. Disappointed we didn’t see the world’s largest kite but it was too windy and probably would have been dangerous but it hasgot me wanting to buy a kite and try kite surfing, and with my birthday in a few days maybe someone will buy it for me… hint hint…
