Fire!

I am going to move to Toronto and sit at the feet of author Robert J Sawyer, impatiently waiting for his next book. I just finished The Terminal Experiment and when I put the book down, I was literally breathless. I’ve never encountered a more satisfying epilogue. The way he weaves science and philosophy thrills and excites me on an unparalleled level.

I finally have photographic evidence of my fire-spinning abilities!

Until this week, no one but my burner friends had ever seen my spin. On Wednesday The Mexican showed up for support as I put on my weekly pyrotechnic display.

Who is The Mexican, you ask? Damn good question. He’s a guy. He’s a guy who makes me feel at home when he touches me. He’s a guy that makes me laugh until we’re both cradling our aching skulls. He’s a guy that pisses me off until I’m yelling and about to throw something at his head. He’s a guy that I genuinely thought towered over me at 6’2" until I *really* looked at him and realized that I was seeing him through what a friend has dubbed "love goggles" because he actually stands at a whopping 5’9". (I don’t care — I still see a big guy when I look at him) He was the first person I called when I got into a 5-car pile-up on the freeway and the last person running through my mind when I fall asleep. He’s also probably going to break my heart. Because that’s just how my life works. But whatever, I’m rolling with it for now.

School was fun and I’m sad that the semester has ended. I don’t have the final grades back yet, but I’ve been on track for an A in sign language and I was capable of getting an A in math, but it may have slipped down to a B because I let my studies take a backseat to spending time with The Mexican. We’d get together under the auspices of studying, but always wound up smoking hookah or grabbing coffee or just sitting and talking about life and religion. Oh god, I’m talking about him again. Dammit.

I walked in the rain tonight for over an hour. I just listened to my iPod and let my thoughts wander as my legs moved. Life is so interesting right now, frustrating as it may be.

I miss you. Yes. You.

Sweet pics.

^^looks at [PWAU] Actually they do! 😛 One of the girls in my class does fire spinning and has started giving some of us lessons in the park during lunch. I saw the first 7 words and was instantly excited. Oh well … maybe one day you’ll at least be able to visit! lol

Dude. You RULE. Egads about the accident! But I’m glad to hear that things are (mostly) going well with the Mexican. And we miss you, too.

I kind of love those pictures. I’m so glad to hear things are well. 🙂 <3

Sounds like things are going well for you. I didn’t know you were the girl who played with fire. Do you also have a dragon tattoo and have you ever kicked a hornets nest? Be optimistic about the mexican. You are happy. Enjoy it. I will be in your neck of the woods in Feb and would love to continue our conversation.

Wow!! I’m so sad I was never able to see you spin. There is a big burner community here in Asheville. COme visit!! I miss you a lot. It’s weird. I’m glad to hear you have found someone that makes you feel at home.

That’s really cool. Mexican? Interesting! Good to hear, like they say better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Right?
