This and That

Bruce has only ridden in the car once with his new seat. He has the same reaction as before. Doesn’t like being put in. We just went to the store and that’s a mile away. He was fine once we were going. He likes being in the shopping cart vs being in the carrier in the cart. He really likes when we check out. All the people, beeps. He kept making the cashier laugh because he was amused.  I THINK I might be able to go for a shopping run with him by myself now. Maybe. I don’t want to be one of those people shopping with a crying baby or feel the need to leave the cart.

Work is work. I don’t know why I feel in a slump emotionally about it. I do know that I would feel so guilty if I wasn’t working since Roger hasn’t been working much (construction). I’ve also been getting spoiled with him not working. He usually gets up with Bruce when he’s up for the day. Sometimes Roger is already up. I do the middle of the night stuff. It’s nice to sleep til 10am. I hope it’s not too hard when he’s working regularly, for me to get up. It’ll be fine. I don’t always sleep in. It’s just nice when some of the middle of the night stuff is long and I’m pooped.

Bru seems to be back on track with his sleeping. He’ll get up once, sometimes not at all. If I rocked him and get him to fall completely asleep, then I can usually put him back in his crib. If he’s not completely asleep, he’ll sit up and stand and cry. So I try again and wait longer.

I’ve been trying to have him nap in his crib vs in the swing. He’s getting big, I believe the weight goes another 10lbs but I think it’s a habit that needs to be broken. Plus, he can’t really go in my mom’s swing anymore. She has an older one. He can reach out and grab the frame, which stops him from swinging. Mine, which is brand new, is curved out, he could never reach it. Maybe, just maybe, if I can get him to sleep in the crib, then maybe she could actually lay him down in the pack n play at her house. Doubtful but oh well. We need to get him ready for when we start going to the cabin. The swing isn’t coming with. Also, I’m thinking that maybe since he naps well in the swing, maybe that affects how he actually sleeps. Since in the crib, you’re not moving and there’s no music. When I do rock him, I have him sit on my lap, his back on me. That’s the position he likes best. Figure it kinda mimicks the swing.

Everything is a guessing game!

I’m finally at ease, stopped thinking so much on about another baby. We both agree on another one but not yet. I just hope when we do decide to start trying that it doesn’t take 4.5 years or even more. If it does, it does. I just hope that it doesn’t wrap my brain as much as trying to get Bruce did. Ideally  I don’t want anyone to know that we’d like a #2 someday.

Maybe music playing while he’s in the crib? We had to stop using our swing when Kate was about 4 months old because it was only a 3 point harness and she could sit up. Max decided he hated it and preferred his highchair so he could look around. Babies are silly.
