6 months old!

Bruce had his 6 month wellness checkup on his 6 month mark.

January 1st we started give him rice cereal. I have him avocado once. Last week we started giving him pureed carrots. The cereal was a little frustrating. I know having a spoon in the mouth is very new AND sitting in the highchair. I decided that I think he might just not like the cereal. I haven’t had any problems with the carrots, so I might be right. Last night we gave him some applesauce and he just gobbled that up like he loves it.

When he’s laying on his back I’ll grab ahold of his hands and he pulls himself up. When he’s in the swing, carseat, highchair, when I go to grab him out of there, he leans forward. He can’t sit unassisted but he’s getting the concept. Lots of times when I hold his hands and he pulls himself, he goes right to a stand, skip the sitting.

Car rides are SO much better now. The first few months, if we stopped at a redlight, he’d cry and cry. Now a lot of times he’s asleep before we even leave our driveway! 

He likes things that makes noise. For instance, the tape on his diaper, you gotta watch him when you’re going to put clothes on him. He’ll undo his diaper. At the Dr yesterday, after they were all done with the shots and we were bundling him back up (feel like temp was -23), he realized he was on paper and pretty much started rolling around with it.

When laying on the floor, he’ll move a couple inches. Not exactly crawling yet, but almost. He reaches for something and somehow moved closer. He can roll all around. He likes to roll on his tummy but doesn’t always like being there. He knows how to roll over but it’s like he starts pouting and that makes him forget. Majority of the time when he wakes up, he’s on his tummy. Sometimes it takes awhile before he goes down for the night cause he keeps rolling on his tummy and doesn’t want to be there. If I just leave him, he cries. Flip the pancake over!

During diaper changes, he likes to grab his "tackle box" as Roger calls it.
