workout mama & boots/coat

i have to decide what i want for my bday. last night, i was looking through a catalogue and saw a coat i liked. i said to dennis "you don’t have $120 lying around, do you?" he wanted to know for what and when i showed him, he said "you do have to pick something for your bday." you could’ve knocked me over with a feather! here’s what i think i’m going to get (the chocolate brown):
i have never had a good pair of winter boots and i have a coat i like. it’s comfy.
or one of these, the shorter version. i don’t like the colours as much:
i saw these babydoll coats (not in white though) at old navy the other day and liked them but i think boots would be more worth it. who knows? i could end up with both at some point *winks*:
this is $10 less on the american website. why is everything more here?!
tonight, we’re going shopping for bday presents for our nieces. on friday night we have a 2 year old’s bday party, on saturday we have a bday party for a 9 year old, and on sunday we have a keg bbq (it’s a long weekend here so monday is free.)
after working out last night (dennis was teaching class so i went along.i think i’m going thursday too so that will be 3 workouts this week 
the usual trainers aren’t teaching this week so i’m taking advantage of free classes), dennis and i came home, put sawyer to bed (he got to go to nana’s house) and made cookies so i’d have something to serve on our play date today. i have to provide snack for book club on friday, so i’ll get something for that tonight as well.
i’m pretty excited to order my boots…decisions, decisions. i think i’ll go with the taller chocolate ones and if i don’t like them, i’ll send them back and get the other ones. 🙂 they’ll work with pants or skirts and higher piles of snow than the other pair.

You are right that the PDA my bf bought doesn’t seem to be working out for him in some of the features it has. I do hope my bf will be able to find a 4GB SD card that will work with the PDA/GPS. Why do you still get a gift for your birthday at your age? If I get something for my birthday it’s just a card or $20 from my grandma. It does get cold where I live now, but not as cold as it did up north. Does the area of Canada you live in get a lot of snow? When I was going to school up north we could get 2 feet or more of snow at one time. Where I live now my bf and I don’t have to deal with the snow. I hope you like the boots you chose when you get them. I wonder why the boots cost more than $100. I hope you enjoy your time at the birthday parties and BBQ this weekend. What do you call the money you use in Canada? I know in Mexico they call their money pacos.

ryn: yeah, they’re the same thing lol. as it gets colder, you could buy a knock off brand nearly identical for 30 bucks! might be an option and a quick way to get both items! mine are extremely warm, and yes – very comfy!!

There is nothing wrong with getting bday presents at your age. You do make sense when you say one should always get presents on their bday. I didn’t know a present on a bday means the people around them love them and want to celebrate their existence. That is good you and your friends give each other gifts for each of your bdays. What kinds of gifts have you given friends for their bdays and what gifts have you been given from friends for your bdays? What day is your bday? My bf hates the cold as well. He would rather it be 100 degress F than 20F or below. Even though winter doesn’t start in the US till Dec 20th (I think that is the date) some states start getting snow the 3rd or 4th week of Nov. How much is the boots than if the coat was over $100?

What kind of coins does Canada use? The US has nickels, dimes, pennies and quarters. How come if one buys something in Canada with US money (I think that is allowed) they get back Canadian money as change? Do you know how much $1 in US money is to each dollar in Canada money? If you don’t know it’s ok. How does one switch US money into Canada money and do items in stores show US and Canada amounts so ppl who visit Canada know how much to give a cashier in US or Canada money. I asked about the money in Canada because I like to know how things work in different parts of the world.

those boots are cute… i don’t understand the new style of baby dolls, i think they make ppl look preggo, but who knows lol… i just recently seen this new style when I finally went into a clothing store besides walmart lol! But the caot is cute… never seen one like that. Busy weekend for u! I don’t know how you keep up w/ everything w/ classes n stuff. I should look into something like that

RYN: ah, gotcha. the only reason i suggested it was because i have two pair one being from wilson’s leather and one from payless that were less than 30. they’ve lasted 2 yrs longer! ha. well anyway, cute shoes.

I think they’re cute and comfy! I too would go with the chocolate brown boots. I love that jacket too. I haven’ seen those at Old Navy yet. I guess because our winters practically require no winter attire. 🙁

Oh, peeking at the note above mine, i’m also wondering now: what DOES canadian money look like? Paper money, because i’ve seen the coins (the coins look like ours, at least the penny and quarter i think).
