on his way to the game (he loves toy story and buzz.)

to those of you who are single moms, you are super amazing. i’m alone a couple nights and i turn into a shrieking harpie with the kids. ugh. i do most of the child-rearing around here but i do rely on dennis to take up the slack. he cooks most of the suppers and puts the kids to bed. that is in itself HUGE for a SAHM. anyway, i give so much credit to women (and men) who do it alone.

so, when he got home today, we got ready and we all went to watch our nephew play football. he’s in a league in a city near here. football is one slow moving sport. i’ve never been to a game before. also, our nephew didn’t get to play a lot. not b/c he sucks or whatever but b/c he’s one of the newer guys. has to earn his stripes and whatnot. you know?

after the game, which beau did NOT enjoy (big shock there), we went under the bridge for some food and to watch boats and people. beau fell asleep so we didn’t walk as planned. dennis found it too hot in the car (i was fine) so we moved on. we drove around deciding whether to do something or go home. in the end, sawyer fell asleep, dennis and i got DQ and a few things at wal-mart and the dollar store (i got a craft to do with sawyer and some other junk) and went home. did nothing since.

i’m not in the greatest mood still. ugh. tomorrow, though, we’re going to a zoo near here. just a small zoo with a collection of animals and a splash pad and huge playground. we’ll take food and eat there too. it’s nice b/c if it’s still the way it was when i went before, we can leave our food in the car and come back for it when we’re done looking at animals. at most zoos, if you leave your stuff in the car, you have to leave the HUGE zoo and go through a HUGE parking lot to get it. the parking was right next to the play area when i was there last at the entrance to the zoo area. good set-up.

it was that, storybook gardens (we’ll get there yet) or the beach. first sawyer voted for the beach but then he changed his mind. the beach will probably be packed, and dennis though storybook would be too, b/c it’s a long weekend here. so hopefully the zoo isn’t packed. we’ll see.

*i’m thinking storybook looks good too. i wish i knew which would be less crowded on a long weekend…there’s a lot to do at storybook. animals, play areas, splash pad, shows, storybook characters…

anyway, to sum up: grumpy, better tomorrow?, zoo.

RYN: With the plaster/clay stuff just let them use the crayola type paint. I have a spray can of gloss finish I plan to use on De’s to “Seal the paint”. And LOL Give them to the grandparents and family. They’ll love them!

Thanks! Being a single mom SUCKS when it comes to potty training LOL, the other stuff isn’t so bad unless I have had a bad day in general or he is acting up. But I really appreciate you saying that. Look at Beau! I cant even BELIEVE how big he is!

Lol @ your summary I tell Ryan I clock out at 5pm. Lol. I can tell when its getting close to time for ryan to come home as do the girls and we all get anxious and on each other’s nerves. But yeah I tell all my single friends. I don’t know how you guys do it.

I’ve only ever walked past Storybook Gardens when walking on that Spring Bank trail and I kinda peeked in. My mom always wants to go and I have to constantly talk her out of it. Unless we had a small child to take with us, I’m not going in.

RYN: Well now I’m going to have to watch it. KStew’s acting is decent, must see to believe! lol

Hopefully it’s a better day today 🙂

i wish there were more storybook garden type places around. they’re hard to find. i love the zoo. if only it wasn’t supposed to be over 100 degrees here all week. lol. and RYN: the xanax didn’t make the swelling go down, she just had to stay on sedatives until her the swelling went down on it’s own. my SIL, her swelling isn’t going down just yet. yikes. :/

RYN: I don’t know what I would do without Dr. Beene. She’s restored my faith in doctors. I’ve never trusted a doctor in my life. They have all wanted to use me as a guinea pig but not her. She’s been so respectful where my treatment of lupus is concerned. She knows what doctors have done to me in the past. She’s just been amazing. She has helped me face so many scarey things since becoming my doctor. She’s also Mike’s doctor, and DeShawn’s, too. De is terrified of doctors..but not her. She is just that great. She talks to you like she’s human not from some other planet where they speak doctorese. And she takes time to reassure you and explain anything you don’t understand. She has been such a blessing. Man I looked at the links you left for me and those places look so freaking awesome!! I wish they had some near us!!

RYN: I know lol I frequently chat with them at the same time and I always think of him!! Mmmm Kirk Cameron….

ryn: I don’t do much at all for a workout these days, which is part of the problem. The weight gain started about 1.5 – 2 years ago though and during that time I was doing yoga and hiking. I’d like to start biking again but I have a list of excuses for why that hasn’t happened yet. Oh, I also (rarely) do the wii fit but I always feel great afterward. I just don’t exercise often enough, clearly!

Sounds like a fun place to go! The lion safari was cool like that too, the parking lot is in the middle so you can go to your car anytime easily 🙂
