this was when sawyer was 10 months. he was outside doing yard work with daddy and JD. JD is an extremely protective dog. if dennis isn’t home, he’s always on the alert but as soon as dennis gets back, he relaxes. he stayed nearby all day to make sure sawyer was safe. he’s getting older now and has problems with his front legs. i can’t even imagine losing him; he’s been with us since dennis was in college.

seeing these old pictures makes me think of our old yard. it was such an attractive yard with gardens, a lovely little workshop, tons of space, and a great patio. unfortunately, that town had nothing to offer and the house wasn’t big enough for 2 kids (though we could’ve added on if the town were more enticing.) i still miss that house, inside and out, all the time. i hope the people who bought it are taking care of it; they seemed to love it as much as we did.
