our vacation’s almost over :( *now with teaser pic

 happy 4th of july to my U.S. friends!

in bullet form:

• as you know, Monday, we headed to Niagara Falls. we hit major downpours on the way! it did clear up a while after we checked into our room though, which was good. we were able to hit the strip. we were RIGHT off the main drag. so cool. sawyer loved the free tokens he got for the big arcade. he won about 64 tickets and picked some silly little toys out. free for us, fun for him. *love*
• we waited til nightfall before we had a look at the falls. we’ve been there a few times, so we spent the day on Clifton Hill and had supper at Rainforest Cafe (cool place.) the falls are pretty at night. beau was freaking out so we had to wait FOREVER for dennis to return with some milk, b/c apparently the variety stores right beside the falls are useless. beau, we’ve also discovered, is getting his top eye teeth. he wasn’t that happy the entire trip.
• sawyer enjoyed sleeping in the big bed he got all to himself. we wasted $5 on a playpen. we could’ve let beau sleep with us or put him on the floor if we’d known they were going to charge for the damn thing.
• nice breakfast in the hotel and off to marineland in the morning. sawyer is now a ride junkie. we saw a couple cool shows. beau HATED the entire place and it’s overpriced. sawyer whined too much and i had to have a talk with him at lunch. he behaved a bit better after that. the 4-year-old attitude is ridiculous.
• after marineland, we headed home. sawyer, beau, and i slept some of the way. beau was upset some of the way b/c he HATES the sun in his eyes and it was in his eyes most of the way. i kept having to hold things up to block it. ugh. we stopped at a chinese buffet place for supper. *love*
• wednesday, we went to dennis’s work to get my contacts. did some shopping at wal-mart. later on, i had my last yoga class for the summer and sawyer had his first baseball "game." (they’re not really games. they’re just learning.)
• thursday was canada day but we didn’t do much. we thought some friends wanted to hang out but we saw them in the morning, gave sawyer’s bf his bday present, went home and then pretty much did nothing except hit the park. we missed all the canada day festivities waiting for our jerk friends to call us over like they said they would. not sure where they ended up b/c they weren’t home when we went to the park. we rented a movie (remember me) and stayed in to watch it. i’m not big on fireworks and if the kids both go to bed at a decent hour, there’s no way i’m taking them out to waste my time watching fireworks.
• friday morning, we dropped the boys off at dennis’s mom and had a gloooorious day out together. we went to a fight club in london first. dennis did a grappling class and then we did a kickboxing class. the bathrooms were broken,which sucked, but i went down the street to the timmy’s once and to the home hardware once to use theirs. after that, we had lunch at jackastor’s. we had a nice time not listening to any kids yammer or whine. just us. 🙂 
• after lunch, we saw Eclipse!!!! so good. i think dennis enjoyed this one more than the other two. he’s thinking about reading the books. i can’t seem to get them from anyone so i might have to get them from the library again. he doesn’t read as quickly as i do so it might take him a while.
• after the movie (LOVED), we went shopping. i got 12 pairs of undies!! they were having a sale at la senza. 10 pairs for $30 and 2 pairs free!!! i got the cutest undies. dennis got 2 pairs of shorts and a bracelet. at ON, he got 2 shirts. i tried on some shorts that one of my faves got recently but i just do not look good in shorts, as much as i wish i did. i have ugly legs. dennis said they were cute but i think he was lying to spare my feelings. however, he usually will say if he doesn’t like something, so maybe he’s just blind.
• after ON, we went out for supper. then we tried to go hang out with a girl from dennis’s work (and her boyfriend, also from work) but they weren’t home. we rented a movie (the road) and watched it. it wasn’t bad. got some lovin’ that night too.
• saturday, morning lovin’ before going out for breakfast and then hanging around the house, arguing about what to do that day. i was feeling kind of ARGH b/c we were talking about going to the beach and it just made me feel crappy thinking about bathing suits (and of course, a group of people ended up right beside us, girls in bikinis. it just made me feel bad about myself. i didn’t wear a bathing suit at all though and it turned out, i wouldn’t have gone swimming anyway. the water was all seaweed-y and STANK.) in the end, everything worked out, our friends met us there (the beach is RIGHT by dennis’s parents’ house so we picked up the boys and our BFs met us there) and we had a nice time. afterward, they came back to our house and we had bbq and a campfire. really nice night, hanging out. we haven’t done that with them in so long.
• today, we are planning on taking the boys to the splash pad here in town and then tonight, we’re going to see toy story 3 and karate kid at the drive-in!! i’m excited. we were going to go to a nearby zoo but we decided movies would be fun. i do want to take the boys to storybook gardens sometime soon. we could’ve gone today but i got up too late, not realizing it closes at 5. i want to see karate kid and sawyer will love toy story (not sure beau is going to be awake when we get there or what he will think of it) so very exciting stuff. we can pack our own food and toys and stuff and away we go.

in all, a nice week. i’m sad it’s almost over. i wish dennis were taking his 2nd week off. oh well, i’ve got to get mr. whiney pants back on schedule (and i don’t mean beau. i mean sawyer.) he starts summer program tomorrow (every day 9-11:30 a.m.) so that’ll be fun for him. lucky kid, he gets to do that, ball hockey, and baseball! poor beau gets nothing so i REALLY hope he enjoys the movie…if he’s awake.
