milestone?*ETA got em! *EDIT2 wow

last night, dennis put sawyer to bed (he usually does but hasn’t since he’s been sick) so i could watch a movie that was on TV. i was surprised because only a couple minutes later, dennis comes out carrying sawyer’s diaper to be put in the pail for washing. he’d decided to just put sawyer in his crib and see what happened. he talked to himself for a couple minutes (we could hear him from the living room) and then drifted off. what an amazing little man he is.

he stood yesterday without realizing it because he was clapping and obviously needed both hands. i think (and some of my faves and family do too) that he’s just going to be standing there with the couch or something one of these days and then he’s just going to walk away. that’s what he did with crawling; one day, he decided he’d had enough of the “army” crawl and he was up and away on all fours. when he decided to stand and walk with furniture, he just did it like it was nothing. same with stair climbing.

tomorrow, we go back to the doctor to see if sawyer has an ear infection still. if not, i’m going to ask for advice on putting him on whole milk. we’d like to get rid of the bottle. i’m wondering how i know how much milk he needs…i have some info somewhere on that matter from the health board but i forget what it said. it’s not a whole lot, i know that. anyway, i hope he can handle milk; he’s on soy formula, but we don’t think he has a milk allergy. he handled his cake fine (he mostly had icing but i’m assuming there was milk in the cake) on his birthday and he eats other dairy products. now that he’s feeling better, he’s back to eating more, which is good. he has a couple snacks a day and 3 meals.

any suggestions anyone has on switching to milk will be appreciated. i’m going to start with a sippy cup of milk (how much, i’ll ask the doctor) a while after he has lunch for the first few days and see how that goes.

i think i might tell dennis he should take me to see a movie this weekend. there’s a new one out called “Alpha Dog” that i’d like to see and i don’t think dennis is against seeing it.

i’m going to have to attend yoga late on monday 🙁 since dennis’s hours are back up. he’s the only designer who hasn’t been laid off so he can’t leave early for my yoga class. i wish he could though.

i have to get the rest of the christmas decorations down. i want my house back. the tree is shedding in the sun room and making a mess. i’ll have to boot dennis out to get the stuff from outside for me.

tonight, we have chiropractor. dennis was thinking of going to class but he’s still sick so i’m thinking that’s not happening. i don’t mind watching his class but it does throw sawyer’s schedule off. as it is, i don’t know when i’m going to give him supper. we have our appointment at 6 (he eats around 6) and we can’t leave any later than 5:30 to get there on time (yes, our chiropractor is that good. we drive 30 minutes to get to him.)

what a lot of randomness that was.

try mixing 1/2 formula with 1/2 milk and see how he does. then after a few days, try 1/4 formula to 3/4 milk for a few days. then just give him straight milk. that’s how i did it with brennan. bryce has had milk before by itself w/o me doing the 2 parts this to 2 parts that. he had no issues with it. if he does have a milk allergy, he can have soy milk. there are all kinds of brands these days, especially for babies.

I am interested in seeing Alpha Dog too w/Justin Timberlake. I want to see Pursuit of Happiness more though! I love me some Will! haha. One day he will just take off walking and it’ll be AMAZIMG! He will be so cute with his chubby little legs haha.

We got Kathryn on milk before we got rid of the bottle (which just happened this week! Yay!) We started switching her morning bottle to milk and having her night bottle as formula. Then we started giving her a little milk in the sippy cup at lunch and then finally we switched her night time bottle to milk. As far as how much, I think it’s good to ask the doctor. If I remember correctly its like 14-16oz a day? I could be wrong but that’s how much we give Kathryn.

I’ve heard doing half and half, half soy half cow, works good, but I don’t know from experience. I am going the other direction, getting Haley to drink soy for the extra protein. As long as it’s chocolate she doesn’t care, go figure.

how long did it take you to get your babylegs? Im waiting on mine now 🙂

January 4, 2007

i started mixing formula and whole milk at 11.5 months. at first it was 2oz. milk and 6oz. formula then i would added an ounce about every 4 days. she is on whole milk now and im slowly switching her from formula to bottle. she gets bottles in the morning and at night but she only gets a sippy cup in the afternoon. it takes her a while to finish it in the sippy but she eventually does. im going

January 4, 2007

to switch her morning bottle to a sippy in a couple weeks, and then her bedtime bottle. she is doing really well with it, im sure sawyer will too. oh, and autumsn doctor told me she needs 24oz. of milk a day.

i meant to say “slowly switching her from bottle to sippy” in the first note lol … not “formula to bottle”

TJ transitioned very easily to milk, but had a bottle until he was 18 months or so. That was mostly my fault since I wanted to keep him my baby as long as possible!

They didn’t give me the snowman ones… they gave me those green and red babylegs… maybe they just ran out of the snowman ones… I dunno, I like them both. I’ve been giving Kaden Whole milk and yogurt to ease him into it. But I’m still giving him formula too. I’m in NO hurry for Kaden to walk… he takes steps and then goes back to crawling. He can take his timeand not walf for another year as far as I’m concerned. The less I have to chase after him LOL.

January 4, 2007

awe those are just adorable 🙂

January 6, 2007
