fights *pics

so i didn’t mention that our club put on fights at a local hall on saturday. some of the fighters backed out so there weren’t as many on the card but there were still 8 and about 100 people or so showed up. the show was to raise money for our two fighters who’ve been invited to go to Team Couture in Vegas to fight. anyway, all our fighters won except one. not bad, not bad at all. i wish i’d taken my camera but i had to go back once on our way b/c i forgot bottles. i didn’t have time to go back again. someone taped it though. thank goodness b/c sawyer kept bugging me so i didn’t really get to see dennis.

hee hee. he’s all muscley and stuff after he’s done fighting. sure wish i’d had my camera with me for when he was walking around shirtless after.  

he hurt his foot and he’d already hurt his knee that week so he kinda didn’t do it any favours, but he won the fight. yay for that! it’s like something clicked and now he’s winning fights. the promoter for the fights they go to over in Michigan commented on how well dennis did b/c he thought dennis had zero stand-up. he thought he was only good on the ground. what a jerk. backhanded compliment or what?!

sawyer had a good time at the summer program today. there are 2 girls who run it (they do it every summer in this town; have for years.) i felt so bad though b/c dennis registered sawyer and he didn’t ask ANY questions, so i had no idea what sawyer needed. i brought swim shorts and a towel for him but all the other kids had snacks and drinks. i know now. it goes every weekday (monday to friday) 9-11:30 until the end of august and was only $50. sawyer has BestStart on Tuesdays though so he’ll miss that day. thursdays they go to the splashpad (though they might other days, since it’s right beside them) and fridays they go to the library. he was nervous at first but then another girl showed up so he felt a bit better.  there were about 8 kids, i think. doesn’t seem like that many. maybe more will come as the week progresses.

i think this will be perfect for us. it’ll give me practice getting up to take sawyer somewhere early in the morning, since school starts at 9 (i think) and it will give us the morning apart (i’m not a morning person and we tend to fight LOL.) beau and i went for a walk, i got a cappuccino at the local variety store and talked to the manager (a friend) for a bit. then we came home and i had a shower while beau watched elmo. we picked up sawyer at 11:30 (i brought some juice for him *eep*) and he came home for lunch. now he’s watching caillou with beau.

good stuff. good for all of us.
