so, i was perusing Vogue, as i do each month, and someone had written in about a previous fashion spread. the picture accompanying the letter reminded me of a hat i’d liked in september’s issue. a cloche hat (20s or 30s style), to be exact. so, shopping i went.
i bought this:

sorry the picture is so small; it wouldn’t let me steal a bigger one. guess you’ll have to wait for christmas to see it on me in a nice big pic b/c dennis says i have to wait until then to get it and i should act surprised. lol. it’ll be all i can do to stop myself from wearing it when it gets here.
now all i need are huge eyes, blue eye makeup, and red lips (just like that hot mannequin head)! *just kidding* 
sawyer is watching teletubbies and doing puzzles. he enjoys "puzz" quite a bit. when he wants a new one, he yells "more puzz!"
i have nothing more really. i’ve not done much in the last couple days. a lot of laundry, but you’re not interested in that. i’m nearly done the penelopiad and will soon be getting back to the birth house. the librarian requested i return the penelopiad as soon as i’m done so the next book club member can have it. i think it holds more power if you have first read the odyssey, which i’m pretty sure they haven’t (i offered it to them and none of them wanted to borrow it.) i worked a bit today, getting those posts in to make a little $.
off to do some other work and maybe scrapbook once sawyer is in bed. haven’t done that in a while.

RYN: I’ve been to a CM crop at a friend’s house a couple years ago, but I always feel too pressured at those things. Last time they tried to get me to buy a $50 album or something. Sheesh. The local scrapbooking store holds crops and workshops.. I should really make an effort to go out.. It’s just so much trouble to find someone to watch Tristan, etc., since Chuck is almost always busy!

I didn’t know a bandaid would leave a sticky dirty mark when taking one off. I don’t use bandaids that often to know this. You are right that medicaid and medicare are confusing. I too am glad the health care and prescriptions don’t work that way in Canada. Yes, it is good that at least it’s only $2 so I can go to the doctor without worrying about the cost. The $2 is only if I never get off Medicaid where I live.

What do you mean by perusing Vogue? I see you were able to get the picture bigger. Why do you like the hat in the picture enough to want to have one? Where would a person wear the hat in the picture and what is the hat made of?

If the pic in this entry is not the picture FROM vogue than what was the pic you were talking about from the magazine. I don’t usually buy things just because I like somethiing. When you don’t have a lot of money you have to be careful what one buys with the money they do have.
