The New Puppy is Here!

Yes, we adopted a new puppy.  She is a year old…maybe an Australian Silky mix…maybe a Maltese mix…maybe something else.  She is tiny, just under 8 pounds.  I’ve never had a small dog before.  She adores me.  I like pups who adore me.  The cats are not amused and are mostly sticking to the basement.  They’ll come around.  The big yellow comes up at night when the pup is in her crate.  Shoot, if the cats could think about it, they could individually take her on as they are all larger than she is.

Meet Zoë

When we went into the center for the surgery, the nurse said, "So the holidays and surgery weren’t enough for the two of you?  Had to adopt a dog?"  Yeppers we did 🙂

Surgery went well.  I see the surgeon again next week Wedmesday, but I feel in my gut the margins were clean and life is good.  I am going without pain medication–all narcotics are bad for me because my body just loves them.  Take two tabs of OXY and I have to go through withdrawals.  So it’s ibuprofen every four hours.  That last hour is tough but not that bad.  I have been able to take Zoë on at least one walk, if not two, every day since surgery.  Get tired easily but it’s hard work healing.

Thanks to everyone for your care and concern.  Life is good.
peace~~

It’s great to read your words again. WELCOME BACK! I’d say Zoe is even cuter than you. heheheheheh Budder (19 lbs) would think her a new toy. Actually, he’s a coward. When housed with Jean’s two cats and Chihuahua (all much smaller) he hid under the bed most of the time. Get well and be well, always.

She is BEAUTIFUL and of course she loves you. What’s not to love? 😉 I can see some Maltese in her. Perfect choice. Great age too. Awesome news on the surgery! I envision you and Zoe planning a long top down wind in your hair and loud music road trip this summer. This winter is going to fly by. xoxo

Well she is just a DOLL. I think she is great medicine and the addiction she generates is a win/win. SO glad you are doing well, my friend.

So glad the surgery went well. With your positive attitude, I know you will be okay. What an adorable little dog to help you through the healing. Thank you for your note. I have been thinking about you, too. hugs,
