Summer time~~

Summertime and the livin is easy……………..

  • I get to watch Kaity most every day.  We play in the water–either the little wading pool in the side yard, the "cool" tub on the deck (the hot tub cooled down for the summer), or the Big Pool at the park. Doesn’t matter which one, all contain water that she can splash!

  • I have needed to go into w*rk about once a week in order to finish up the stuff I needed to get finished before classes were over for the year. Pisses me off to have to go into w*rk in order to finish off the stuff I should have been able to finish before classes were over for the year because I should not have had that much w*rk to do during the academic year. Yes, I’m whining.

  • I have been making quilts since school has been out.  I have made 10 quilts since May and many more since January.  Part of keeping busy has been making quilts for Project Linus, an organization that collects blankets and quilts to give to children who are in the hospital for extended stays.

  • My mom arrives today for a week’s visit. She is here to celebrate my birthday.  That’s tomorrow! I love birthdays 🙂

  • My elder son moved back to Phoenix, AZ on July 1. He is establishing residency for a year while finishing up a few courses at Scotsdale Community College and then will complete his bachelors degree at Arizona State–history and archeology (I hear the theme song from Raider of the Lost Ark every time he tells me his major). He is doing great and we miss one another.

  • Heard news from Gattaca that his little house sold in one day after a 4-person bidding war that upped the price by $25,000.  Not bad! He is moving (Friday!) to Tuscon, where he has a job waiting for him at the University of Arizona! This is great great news! I will miss him very much!

  • The president of my college asked for a meeting in order to discuss the letter I wrote regarding the Performing Arts department (see previous entry). We have not had an opportunity to get together yet. That day will come.

  • I love summer! I love the feeling of freedom.  I love the longer days. I love the possibility of doing anything I want. I love summer!

peace~~
