Mowing the Lawn
I love it when Doug mows the lawn. I love the smell of feshly-cut grass. I love the look of the yard, like a park. Mowing is just one more reminder that it is summer. And I really love summer.
Summer means long warm days that hint at the possibility of adventures. Summer means flowers and gardens and birds and squirrels and spiders. Summer means birthdays and parties and grilled Gardenburgers. Summers mean Perry Mason at noon. Summers means sunshine filtered through the trees–the pine trees and the dogwoods and the fir and the birch trees and the Western Red ceders. Summer means bike riding and swimming and playing games. Summers mean life is still damned near perfect.
