Saturday Night Santa

Greetings and Good wishes to everyone.  On Saturday night our small town hosted Santa coming to town.  I decided this year that I would take my niece Trinity who is 5, and invite her big sister Tiff and Mr. Chubs, normally called Corben.  It was a cold nasty day, but what else is new around here.  I picked Trin up when I got off from work and brought her back to my house for a little visit before we went to the firehouse for Santa.

Trin and I had some really good 5 year old conversation and she decided to write like a doctor, so she wrote me some wonderful presciptions that I am sure will cure all my ill, if I could just read them.  We had cheese and crackers and sat at the kitchen table solving all the world problems.  I had forgotten how smart 5 year olds could be and she was really curios about what I knew also.

Her big sis arrived with Corb and we headed to the firehouse.  Well Santa showed up after riding around town in a firetruck and probably freezing his "snowballs off"  Well when we first got their I introduced Trin to some small friends that were there and she and Corb ran around the firehouse and had a good time.  We enjoyed watching all the little ones play.  Then Santa arrived and it was time for the big event.  Trinity was so excited that she wanted to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him all the things she wanted.  Corben decided he was not going to sit on that strangers lap and made really ugly faces before crying to get his mom to take him.  Santa gave him a candy cane and after we left Santa’s area, he decided to try and eat it thru the wrapper.  We had cookies and brownies and treats before we left and I think all of us enjoyed the evening.

I had to take Trinity home after that and we discussed Santa’s magic dust and how his reindeer are also magic.  Seems her dad told her that the reindeer could only fly and she went home and straightened him right out to tell him that they were magic and could do whatever they needed to.  I really enjoyed spending time with her and we agreed to take a trip to the north pole when Santa was on vacation and it was warmer.  Yeah right.

Anyhow. Sunday I worked a double and had a pretty quiet day.  I slept today until about noon, and when I got up I really didn’t get much accomplished.  I have decided that if schedule permits I am going to take off the rest of the week.  I need to shop and get all my Christmas gifts purchased so that I don’t wait until the last minute.  I also really need to clean my bedroom before I head out for vacation.  Tomorrow I have to open at Bobs and I have a siding company coming out to give me an estimate on new siding for my house.  I don’t have the money right now but sometime in the next year, I may have it done.  It would really increase the value of my house and make it much warmer.  These old houses sure don’t hold any heat due to no insulation in the walls.

Oh well, that’s aabout it for now.  I an going to turn in early tonite because 4 am comes early.  Good night and God bless!
