Heading off to bed

Yep i just fininshed my second midnite and I am getting ready for bed but decided to write a short note.  I was off on vacation last week and ended way to soon. (I don’t know why my font changed itself, but oh well.

This past week was our county fair and I spend two day there with my niece Chelsea, aka Bean while she showed her cows.  She has sone a great job of preparing for the fair and she asked if I would be there.  She placed first, second, and third and was really pleased with her success.  We made it a real family affair as my mom went out the day she showed in 4-H competition.  She had her own cheering section.  Thursday she showed in open class against adults and folks from all over and she didn’t fare quite as well.  But overall this year was a great sucess.  I was pleased to hear so many compliments on what a fine hardworking young lady she is.  The compliments all coming from my peers and some older friends of my fathers,  I told her on show day that she had made her grandpa proud.  We both kind of teared up on that one and then we smiled and went on.

So that was the fun of my week off.  I did manage to finally get a coat of wax on my truck and remembered how much I love to detail cars and trucks.  I can’t wait to finishe the interior and make the entire truck look better,  The bad part is that the O2 sensors have gone bad  and it cost me 160  bucks for the three new ones.  But my neighbor will do the labor and it will be cheaper than taking it to a shop.

And the other highlight to my week off was going to Kentucky to see the legendary Merle Haggard.  He has always been a favorite of mine and I wanted to see him before it was too late.  We drove about 160 miles one way to see the show, but it was fantastic.  I am so glad to say that I have finally had the chance.  George Jones plays in September and that may have to be another trip that I will make.  Ihave seen Jones, but he is well worth the chance to see him again.

Oh well, I think it’s bed time.  I need to put my load of laundry in the dryer and hit the sack.  I hope you all have a great Sunday.

The best part of the county fair is the 4-H projects. 🙂 Way cool on the Haggard concert! RYN: As I age, cold hits me harder, I think.

RYN: Nope. The zig zag is an urban legend. Gators are faster than humans. You cannot outrun them. Good to see you!
