Frozen Grass
Nope not the kind that makes you happy either. I cut the grass today and I don’t think I have ever done that in December. But first time for everything.
I worked third shift last night and then came home to sleep this morning. I have not really worked thirds in a long time, but thanks to one of our frequent flyer bitchy residence, it ended on a good note. My relief was early and I was in bed by 6:30 this morning. I slept until about noon then forced myself to get up. I have to work days tomorrow so I didn’t want to sleep all day.
When I got up at noon, I just kind of just moved until I was ready to feel alive. I made some phone calls and then watched my soap opera. It would have been really easy to just sleep the day away, but opted not to. At about 2:30 I decided to go out and clean up the yard and mow, or mulch the leaves in the yard. It was damn cold, but after I got gas for the mower, I was ready to go. The leaves were wet and I didn’t feel like raking and loading them up to ger rid of them so I mulched them. I couldn’t find my mulch cover, but anything is better than raking. After If finished mowing, I made a small fire in the fire/grill and cleaned up the back yard. I ever took time to play ball with the dogs.
It sure was cold, but the sun felt good and I am happy with what I got completed. Not sure that I will be able to get out of bed or move in the am, but it felt good to be doing somethng that I enjoyed. So I finally came into the house about 5:30 and ate some left overs. I even made Luther a custom flannel shirt with rolled up sleeves. Well while he was indoors, he was pretty content, but dang, when he went out side, he lost it. It’s dark out and I ain’t going looking for it. His loss.
Well tomorrow is a regular work day and so I must be off to the shower and then to bed. The boys are already sleeping so, I may as well do the same. It sure felt good to be productive, even tho it was colder than a "witches tit." Don’t really know how cold that is, but I sure heard it alot as a kid, so it must mean something. And to prove it, I mowed frozen grass!
Okay, thats all for now and I am over and out! Roger that!
I love to mow and mulch leaves… I’ve done it several time in December but then again I don’t live where it snows a lot!….. take care and get some rest!…….. 🙂
