All went well
Day after surgery. I am up in the middle of the night to try and reposition my leg. I an a side sleeper and right now I am not able to sleep on either side. So I sleep on my back.
Doc said meniscus tenden was torn and lots of arthritis. Also cleaned out behind my knee cap where it had become very squishy. So I am home and able to walk on the leg with a little help from a cane and a walker. Doc ordered no crutches to help me out.
Mom went along and brought me home. She came later in the day and we had supper together. She has lots of leftovers from holiday and after gathering from the funeral. It was good to have a home cooked meal even if it was left overs. Several friends called last night to check. Today I can venture to the liveing room maybe and sit in the recliner. But must keep knee elevated. Doc ordered therapy stockings to avoid blod clots. Don’t need any complications.
Oh well, must head back to bed. I will take some more pain meds and hopefully go back to sleep. Puppies are confused and don’t know what to think. Mom kicked them out of bed and they are now pouting. Just cant afford to chunky one to think that I am the pillow and step on my leg. Now that would make me say ouch, or a dozen other less appropriate words. Have a good day all and stay warm. As one of my facebook pals said, It’s colder than Osama Bin Ladens keaster. Good day!
Feel better soon, Soph! **HUGS** Glad it all went so well! RYN: I think the carrots grew that way because our soil is low on nitrogen. The freezer cucumber recipe is hiding on me right now, but as I recall: Put in bowl 8 cucumbers, peeled and sliced (I slice mine thin) 1 onion (I used a red onion for color) sliced thin. toss with 1/4 cup salt and let stand at least one hour. Rinse in colander after 1 hour and drain well. Sprinkle with dillweed and toss. I don’t know how much. Just until it looks right. I’m guessing at least a tablespoon, but I like dill. You can also toss in some celery seed. Make a syrup of: 1 Cup vinegar 2 Cups sugar Pour over cucumber/onion mixture and toss until well coated. Ladle into freezer containers, leave 1 inch headroom and freeze up to 3 months. I use a slotted spoon to ladle in the desired amount of cucumbers, then I pour the liquid it was in on top. That way, I know how many servings are in each container. There’s enough syrup to make more cucumber salad later on. Just refridgerate the leftover liquid. I hope that’s clear. Usually I just tell people to come on over and I show them. LOL!
