All I can say is Wow

  Got lots of thoughts in my head and not really sure where this will end up.  My day started off pretty good, but my first mistake was answering the phone.  But then again is is the phone that has me torked off for another reason.  Not really sure where I want to start.

I guess my biggest bitch is the fact that with all the new technology we have become an ignorant chicken shit society because we can pass information by email and not have to say the thing that is needing to be discussed.  That being said, I took a call from one of my coworkers yesterday looking for help with a home project.  I offered him the ideas that I had and told him I would look into how much it would cost him to do the bobcat work that he wanted done.  He was looking I think into having a freebee, but I can’t commit my brother or my nephew for work that will not be beneficial to them.  So I told him I would check the cost and let him know.  So as the conversation turned to our workplace, I asked him if the weekend schedule had been filled by anyone looking to pick up the tow open shifts.  He said no, but he had sent out an email addressing the matter.  He then said to me to check my email reference a union issue and our upcoming contract negotiations.  I asked him what that was about and he told me to just check my email.  I should have paid clsoer attention to what he said.

Well anyhow my phone rang several times this morning while I was talking to my mom, and i didn’t pick up the other call, because it took me 10 years to get her back so I talked to her instead.  So needless to say, when she and I finished talking, my phone rang shortly after and it was my co-worker.  We chatted small talk for a few minutes and then he complained that the guy who was to relieve him had a painful female body part and was not coming to work.l  Yeah I did say a guy with a painful female body part, but that is a funny that we use in police work.  The sad part was that this coworker calls off as much or more than anybody and had the balls to call the kettle black.  Both are whiny and always call off.  Any how, I agreed to work the first half of the shift and a good part time employee would work the second shift.  Mind you I have not had more that one day off since returning from vacation on March12.  Oh well, that was bitch number one.

Coworker was real chatty when I arrived and took off before I was able to log into the computers and get ready for the day.  So to make a  long story short, coworker has been our union rep for our last contract three years ago.  I was the co associate and did not really have to do much on the last contract.  Well low had behold, todays email advised us all that he was no longer interested in being the lead rep and would be giving me the responsibility again and he would be the associate rep.  Well excuse me, but you cold have said "hey, would you take over as the lead, as my son is having behaviour issues and I can’t devote all the time needed in this.  No he just drops it in my lap via email and runs out the door.  What a chicken shit.  I had little respect for this person due to an internal investigation we all went thru last year because of him, but to be such a freaking coward was my last straw.

Needless to say, I am not taking any calls from him tomorrow.  And the Sgt. called me tonight to tell me that he was forcing overtime this weekend because nobody signed up.  Can’t wait to hear the whining when he sees that in the morning.

And now my second bitch of the day.  Or maybe I will sleep on it and actually come back tomorrow for an honest second entry in tow days.  I have to take Luther to the vet in the morning for his check up and his shots to keep him in good health  He has really bad breath and it is continual so I am thinking he may have a bad tooth.  I hope not for his sake, but he is such a sweet pup that I don’t want to take a chance.  And he has not see the doc in a while.

As for me, I have a lot of catching up to do on doctors appointments and therapy and all that other fun stuff.  I worked nonstop overtime from the time I returned from vacation due to a coworker being off ofr an internal investigation and time off for evaluation.  I hate to say it, I wish this particular employee had not returned to the job.  They are not capable of doing the demanding job that we require.  And we have a part time person who would make a great asset to full time with out department.

Mom and I really reconnected and she is really showing interest in her family.  It is such a breath of fresh air.  And I am glad we got a second chance to have our mom in our lives.  She is funny in her ways, but I have learned to accept her for who she is and be happy to have my mom back.  She is finally learning to laugh again, and I like it.

I have another rant to voice, but it has to do about values and I think I will sleep on it and see if I change my mind in the morning.  Hope all is well with each of you and remember that as "Flyte says, Life is good."  God Bless!
