The wallet says “Ouch!”
Oy, just got some bills from the hospital.
Total charges for me? $9.410.70
Total charges for Noah? $1,399.85
I don’t even want to know what we’re going to actually be responsible for paying.
Especially considering that Jake STILL hasn’t added Noah to our policy. He said something about thinking he couldn’t do it since we don’t have a Social Security number for him yet. Uh…..I’m sure they’re aware that we have to wait for that.
Oy.

Most insurance still covers the baby if the mother is covered for a certain period after birth. It isn’t a poof you’re out of the womb and no longer have coverage. My insurance covered my son until he was 45 days old. By then I had added him to my coverage.

I’m sorry your insurance might not cover all of it. :o( It’s a hospital though. Most hospitals would rather accept small monthly payments from patients than have to write off the debt completely….?

My dad had heart surgery a few years ago and his bill was over $100,000. He ended up being responsible for none of it. Hopefully that will be the same case for you or at the very least not too much. Good luck.

We added Addison to our Insurance without a SS #. My bills with Addison added in were over $7,000 and I have to pay $742.

Sounds about right for a delivery these days. Just the first glimpse into the “kids are expensive” life. lol Hopefully your insurance picks up a good portion of that so you don’t have so much to pay.

Mine were WAY higher then yours and I paid like 1200-ish. WAY HIGHER.

PS-Feeling jealous of how cheap yours and Cassie’s were. *pouts*

ewwww, that is one naaaaasty bill. good luck 🙂

I think most policies include 90% coverage, so you’d probably pay 10% of the bill. I’m not looking forward to it myself, with all the times I’ve already had to go to the hospital. Yikes.
