Girls Day

I’ve had an amazing day! My mom took the day off work, and we spent the day together. First, we had lunch at Ruby Tuesday’s, where we both ordered the Ruby Mini’s. I got the salad bar while Mom got white chicken chili. My salad was so yummy, consisting of lettuce, baby spinach, carrots, sunflower seeds, a few pumpernickle croutons, a tiny bit of cheese, and Italian dressing. Yum yum!! After lunch, we headed to Burlington Coat Factory to look for a coat for me. My mom said she wanted to buy it so I had something from her with my when I was in NY. I ended up finding a beautiful black wool Calvin Klien coat for only $99! Then we headed over to the men’s section, where she also bought Stan a fun burnt-orange hoodie, and I bought him a gray sweater. Then we headed over to Best Buy, because my mom needs a new TV. She didn’t want an HDTV, but we quickly found out you really can’t find them anymore. We checked Circuit City and Target too, but no luck. So she didn’t buy one today, because she wants to check with her cable company to see how much extra HD service is. Then we headed to the mall to look around for some gloves for me, but good luck finding any. JC Penney had some on clearence, but nothing I was in love with. We did find cute red hats, though, on clearence for $2.97, so I bought those for us. We walked all around the mall, just talking and having a lovely time. Then we headed back here, and my mom headed home. It was so nice to spend some quality time with my mom. We used to do that all the time, but we don’t get a chance much anymore. However, her boss is pretty nice about letting her take time off of work, so I’m sure we’ll have plenty more days like this to come.

I’ve been pretty good with my food choices lately. I had Subway for lunch and dinner Wednesday and Thursday. I just get a $5 footlong and eat half for lunch, and the other half later. I’ve had either baby carrots w/ ranch dip (only 50 calories per packet) or baked chips as my side, and water, diet soda or diet lemonade to drink with them. I’ve also been exercising every night since Tuesday night. I took the dog for a long walk today when I got home, plus all the walking at the mall was good. But I plan on getting on the Wii Fit later tonight.

I’m feeling a lot better about the whole situation. Also, Stan told me Wednesday morning that he DOES believe in me and support me. He knows it’s not going to be easy, but he’s with me all the way, and he promises to do better as well. I know he won’t make as many changes as I will, but last night I heard him in the garage, lifting weights, and it made me happy. Plus, when we went to Subway for lunch, he got good healthy bread and baked chips as well. I’m so lucky to have a man who knows how important this is to me and is willing to try.

Tomorrow, I’m planning on being somewhat  bad for dinner. Amy has been dying to go to Kobe’s, so I told her we could go. I’ll just work out extra hard on Sunday. Weekends are going to be the hard part for me, but I firmly believe it’s not just about what you eat, but how much you eat. Also, I know that any exercise of any kind is really going to help me out. The more comfortable I get, the harder I can push myself. Aaron wants me to start going to the gym with him after work, and I think I might just do that some nights. I’ve GOT to do something!

Well, I’m gonna go veg out in front of the TV for a little bit. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
