A Good Start*

So far, this year has started off well. I was home for 5 days, including the weekend, and it was so lovely. I got lots of rest and relaxation, which is good, because work is going to be killer this month. January is always a crazy time for us, as people’s insurance plans change and deductibles start over, not to mention weather delays due to snow and such. Bah.

Thursday, the 1st, was a lovely day. Stan and I just stayed home all day, ate snack foods the whole day, and watched TV and played video games. Watching Stan do yoga on Wii Fit was priceless. He’s actually quite good!! But I love that he’s getting into the game as well, because it’s motivating both of us to get more active. He tops my best score, and then I beat him, and back and forth we go. It also got him thinking about eating a little better. I was happy to hear that. I love him just the way he is, but it’s hard for me to try to lose weight when he sits and eats whatever he wants. I’m sure he won’t change much, but that’s okay. I’m just glad to have someone to work out with at home now 🙂

Friday was another good day. Stan had to go to work, but since he was working Saturday, he only worked 4 hours. I got up around 11ish, then headed out to do a little shopping. I went to Borders and got a new calendar for the house (pictures of NYC, yess!) and one of the books I wanted for Christmas but didn’t get. Then I headed to JC Penney to try to find a slightly longer chain for my new necklace, but couldn’t find anything I was really in love with. Then a trip to Best Buy, where I bought the Katy Perry and new Ludacris CDs. I heart Ludacris. Then I came home and waited for Stan to get home. We went out to dinner, to a place near Chris and Tim’s called Texas Roadhouse. Very yummy steaks, and the waiters and waitresses entertained us with a line dance at one point. Then we came home, and ummm…. well, let’s just say we worked off some of our dinner 😉

Saturday Stan had to work, so I slept in a little. When he got home, he relaxed a little bit in front of the TV, then we had lunch at Tijuanna Flats. Yummy! We went to the thrift store, where I found a book in the Shopaholic series for dirt cheap, and Stan found a couple shirts. Then we came home and I read while Stan took a nap. Then we decided we were hungry, and we went to Red Lobster. Since I don’t eat seafood much, I shouldn’t even like that place, but I love the biscuits, and they’re Cajun chicken linguini alfredo is soooo tasty. Then we went home, and watched Eagle Eye, which I enjoyed. I love me some Michael Chiklis. I’m not usually attracted to bald guys, but damn, he makes it look sexy.

Sunday we slept in til about 2, then got up and headed to the batting cages before going to Amy’s I had agreed to let Stan teach me how to swing. But, when we got there, there were a bunch of people there, and Stan didn’t get like waiting, so we decided to head straight to Amy’s. We hung out and watched movies all day, ordered pizza, and had brownies for dessert. Yum! We stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home, then I promptly went to bed, since I had to go back to work. Blah.

I will be soooooo glad when today’s over. I think I’ve been pushed to my limit, LOL. I’m going to go home, take a shower, and sit down and finish the book I’m reading about the most amazing cat ever! Maybe a little Wii Fit tonight, but not likely. I just want to unwind when I get home. Okay, okay… maybe some yoga first 😉

*EDIT: So no Wii Fit tonight. To cap off my lovely day, I slipped on the stairs at work while leaving tonight, and managed to twist my ankle pretty beautifully. I also managed to come down hard on my right ass cheek, so I’ll have a gorgeous bruise to go with the fantatically swelling ankle I’ve got right now. Seriously, my left ankle looks like a sausage. Gross. And, of course, there were about 3 people around when it happened, so my pride is pretty hurt too. Blah. I’ve taken a shower, and now I’m gonna go elevate my leg and put some ice on it.

I’ve only read the first in the Shopaholic series, but I hear they are all good. I can’t wait for the movie. And I think it’s important for you BOTH to be healthy!

I hope your ankle is okay!! I saw your status on MS! 🙁 Poor thing! Oh and I saw you mentioned Texas Roadhouse… only my favorite restaurant for chicken fried steak and sweet tea! XO
