A Day of Love
I slept in until 1:30 today!! I know, lazy bones, but I was up for about 19 hours with no sleep inbetween, so I think I earned it 😉
Friday was a good day. I got up, went shopping and picked up some Valentine’s Day gifts, then came home and watched "The Nightmare Before Christmas" for the very first time. I know, I can’t believe it either. However, Sarah-Bear was nice enough to ship it to me along with the first book I’m borrowing from her, because it’s one of her all-time faves and she knew I was wanting to see it. Well, I enjoyed it immensely, even though it was a bit on the strange side 🙂 After that, I just sat around and watched HGTV the rest of the day until Stan came home.
Saturday morning we both got up and headed to work. The calls were brutal for the first 2 hours, but then it calmed down the rest of the day. We were there until about 2, because Stan needed to catch up on some stuff, and then we headed home so he could change and we could exchange Valentine’s Day gifts. He got me this pretty glass figurine thing (I’ll have to take a pic) that has "My Wife, My Friend" etched on it and a little glass rose. So sweet! And the card he got me almost made me cry. He’s usually a funny-card type of guy, but this card was so sweet and so perfect – it said everything I’ve ever heard him say to me before, and then he added his own words too! *melt* I got home some Reese’s Hearts, a little rubber ducky (red with grey hearts all over) that had some of those conversation hearts included (he’s been asking for a rubber ducky for his baths), and Madagascar 2 with the bonus Penguins DVD included. Then we went to Hot Dog Heaven for lunch, and to the mall so I could buy a new bra, because the one I was wearing had basically had it. Then we came home so we could nap before heading out to see a movie. Only I couldn’t fall asleep, so I just kinda laid there. When Stan got up, we agonized over movies. I wasn’t even considering "He’s Just Not That Into You" because it seemed like the kind of movie he wouldn’t be interested in. But my husband never ceases to surprise me. He said he would like to see it, so we finally settled on that. Then, he decided he wanted to have a decent dinner out, and we ended up going to Tony Roma’s. We waited probably about 45 minutes, but it was well worth it. The steaks we both had were super yummy, and while I didn’t want to make a big deal out of this Valentine’s Day (he doesn’t really like the holiday, and we’re saving for New York), it was pretty nice to be out celebrating. Then we headed to the movies. We both absolutely loved it. Me probably a little more than him, because I’m a girl, but it was better than I thought it would be. I wasn’t expecting it to end the way it did, and there was one line that Justin Long gives that just made my heart clench. It was the perfect Valentine’s Day date movie in my opinion.
Today’s a pretty simple day. Amy is basically forcing us to come over, under threat of bodily harm, so she can give me a gift for V-day. (LOL – love you boo!) I think we might be going out to dinner, but not sure. But that’s basically where we’ll be.
If you celebrate Valentine’s Day, I hope you had a lovely and amazing one. If you don’t, then I just hope you had a nice weekend 🙂 Adios for now!

RYN: We haven’t had a BIG ant invasion in a few years, so I suppose it was looming. I lay traps today. 😉
