2009 In Review
This has been borrowed from Sapphire’s Gaze, with many thanks. She does this as a tradition, and I thought it would be a nice tradition to start for myself. So, enjoy! And have a safe and Happy New Year!!!
1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
– Went to New York City
– Went to Discovery Cove and swam with the dolphins
– Started working for a bank
– Bought a house
– Tried swordfish (and liked it!)
– Participated in NoJoMo
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t even know if I wrote my resolutions down (I’m too lazy to go and check), but I can probably guess what they were:
* Lose weight (fail)
* Save money (fail)
* Get pregnant (fail)
* Write in this diary more (epic fail)
My goals for 2010?
* Find a new job
* Stop cursing (Seriously. It’s a problem, and I need to stop. I swear worse than some sailors.)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! Zoe!!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year, thank God.
5. What countries did you visit?
None. Just a new city 🙂
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A job that I actually like, a baby, more time (and money) to travel.
7. What date(s) from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
March 25th – Our 2nd wedding anniversary as well as our first day in NYC.
April 27th – Our visit to Discovery Cove, which included a swim with the dolphins

November 28th – My mom’s birthday, and her first trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Buying our house!
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not losing weight. The doctor said it’s something I HAVE to do in order to see if I can concieve a child, but every time I put in an effort, something comes up and I use it as an excuse.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I did fall down the stairs at CuraScript and fractured my ankle. Damn thing still hurts all the time. Other than that, I was blessed with relatively good health.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The house! (I see a recurring theme here haha)
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My friend Jeffery from work. He’s grown up a lot in the past 8 months, and I think it was long overdue. Also, Amy and Laura, who started going back to school this year and have been doing superb! Way to go girls!
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
People in general.
14. Where did most of your money go?
To this house, and gas and tolls for my drive to and from work.

Buying and moving into the new house, going to NYC and Discovery Cove.
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Hmmmm… I’m not sure.
17. Compared to this time last year, you are…
More: Sure of who I am.
Less: Tolerant of people’s BS.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Played more video games! I re-discovered how much I enjoy it towards the end of the year. I also wish I had written more.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Wasted time at this dead-end job.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
The day before was spent with my mom, and Christmas day was spent opening presents with Stan in the morning, followed by a very untraditional lunch of grilled hamburgers, followed by some time spent at his sister’s house for presents with his family.
21. How will you spend your New Year?
Stan mad a fabulous dinner, which I am currently stuffed from. I baked brownies, which are cooling at the moment, and we’ll enjoy those later. We’ll just watch the ball drop and share a kiss at midnight 🙂
