Oh, was that today?
It’s Father’s Day today. Both a happy and a sad day for me. My son gave me a hand made card that said “My dad is going to be the hero that saves the world”. I welled up. He gave me the card on Friday because I don’t think I am going to get a chance to see the kids today. Tisha is going to Las Vegas and the kids are going with her dad to Grand Junction or something because I have to work tonight.
So today is already a sad day. Not too mention that this will be the 10 year anniversary of the last time I saw my dad. I saw him on Fathers Day June 21, 1998. I can’t believe it’s been ten years. And it’ll be four years since my step-dad died next month (on my daughter’s birthday). I was really close to both of them. Not so much my step-dad for a long time, but three years before he passed we became really close and I was the last one in my family to see him alive.
Father’s Day kind of sucks this year. I’ll probably go over and hang out with my best friend Eric and his son Little Kyle. His name is just Kyle, but everyone calls him Little Kyle to avoid confusion and yes, my best friend named his son after me. I’m sure they will be with Eric’s mom (who I also call mom) and have dinner somewhere nice. I’ll try my best to look happy though I will secretly be miserable. As if I already don’t have enough heartache being away from Lang.
Okay, I’m done with this entry.
Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there. Hug your kids extra tight today. And if you still have a dad (even if he’s a prick) give him a call. If not for him, then for those of us who can’t.
RYN: I don’t think that would have been overstepping any boundaries at all. I think it would be very nice to go do that.

Sorry that it was a sad day for you.

I didn’t see my kids on Father’s Day this year. Custody is a tricky thing.

RYN: Awwww. *blush*Yes, I was referring to the Cake song. I heard it (for the first time) on my way back to work today at lunch. I just liked it. And I thought the lyric was cute if you look at it from a knitter’s standpoint. hehe.
