Castle in the sky.

Okay well it’s not in the sky. Its in my garage. I’ve been pretty down the last few days (and for good reason) and i needed something to keep me busy. So I started working on Jordan’s castle bed again. I had cut the pieces for it a few weeks ago and it has been sitting unfinished in my garage since. I wish I had pictures from the cutting stage, but I just got my neat camera last week. It’s already come in handy and it takes awesome pictures. Here are some from the bed project. I used a cheap plywood, so it looks a little chipped and dinged up. I think I will add a few touch ups on the spots that look really bad.

This one is after the gray paint was dry and I drew the lines for the bricks with a marker.

This is after the first set of black lines. I painted them thick and cartoonish so they would look sort of goofy.

This is after the black touch up and highlights and the white highlights.

This is the door.

This is the window. I didn’t cut it out because it was a bitch to cut out the door. (I didn’t have proper tools)

I need to thank Lang for finding the website that showed me how to paint a castle.

Now I just need to fasten it to the frame and make sure it’s sound before I take it apart and put it back together in my sons room.

And here is an awesome picture I took this morning. It’s awesome because my camera does this great thing where you can take panoramic pictures by taking a picture then turning slightly and lining up the frame and taking another then another and it stitches them together and creates one photo.

And here is one of the panoramic pictures where we were playing with it. I had Jordan and Maddison move to each frame.

It didn’t cut him out of the frame on the left. There is a wall there and he is standing behind it.

I would have loved to have had a castle next to my bed when I was that age! Hell, I’d probably still love it now…
