He was dull and she pees all over!

Last night I went out with the guy down here…Mike (the Greek one). We went out a little after 11pm and went to a diner to grab cheese fries and just chat. He told me about all the neighbors and their families. It was interesting but he really kept the conversation away from himself. I asked about his family and was told “they are good” and then back to the neighbors. I asked about where he has traveled (I know he travels a lot from face book) but he just listed the places. I asked which place he liked most and why.. he said he didn’t have a favorite or even favorites. He told me drove across country not so long ago. I asked how he enjoyed it and what he enjoyed most. He told me it was “fun” and “California because it was like Long Island kind of.” Right.. He sucked at giving me information. I was disappointed. He was really polite and sweet but his conversational skills only surrounded gossip. He really told me no new information about himself and I don’t think he asked anything about me. He asked a lot about my job because he was interested in a non-Jew living with Jews. We spent about an hour and a half together and he said we should “hang out again when we have more time.” I said, “sure, sounds fun.” We will see.

Today is day two of potty training the baby I nanny for. Yesterday I literally had her sit on her potty ALL day except lunch and nap. She could get up to put her pee into the toilet, flush and get two M&M’s. She peed on the floor about 4 times on her way back to the potty but she peed in the potty at least 5-6 times and pooped in the potty once. I was so excited for her. She got a lollypop for poop and 2 M&M’s for each pee that made the potty. I think she isn’t ready but we are trying. She doesn’t know she is peeing until it is coming out and she only goes small amounts at a time so she goes very frequently. I’m not sure she has the bladder control/awareness for underwear but her mother wants her potty trained. Her brother was potty trained by his second birthday and her sister was shortly after her second birthday they said. The thing is, when I began working here she was 3yrs old and still peeing her pants every few days. She also was in pull-ups at night till 4yrs old. So, she was potty trained but not well. You had to tell her to go, she didn’t go on her own even at 3.5yrs old. Their brother didn’t have accidents often at all. In fact, he had 2 or 3 accidents after day 2 of potty training during the day but used pull-ups at night till 4.5yrs old.

….She just peed on the potty a little then got her two M&M’s and underwear. Within 30seconds she said she needed to pee again and just got her underwear off and sat on the potty. She isn’t going again but she is sitting here…I don’t think she knows, I think she just wants M&M’s and knows to sit there till she goes.

I am getting NOTHING done in this house because I have to sit RIGHT next to her. If I move, she’ll stand up and pee on the carpet. I can’t put her potty in the kitchen while I do dishes because she won’t sit there…only in the living room will she sit on it. This is going to be a tough week…hopefully she gets it by Thursday when I leave for Christmas and they continue with it till I come back for Sunday morning.

Before I could actually copy and paste this she peed on the floor. Obviously has NO clue she is going till it is running down her leg. I put a pull up on her and told her it was underwear. I told her she CANNOT pee in it or she gets NO M&M’s. She has no idea though. Poor kid…forced to do something she isn’t ready for.
