You Think You Can

The void that once was small has grown,

everything I thought was safe has disappeared,

there is nothing left of the real me,

I don’t even know who the real me is,

you hold me close and never give me space,

you make me your slave,

you control my every thought and action,

you tell me I am nothing,

even without speaking words,

I try to run but there is no escape,

my fears are being realized,

you shoved your fist deep in my heart,

squeezing it until it no longer beats,

but no one else can see this,

you hide the truth from everyone’s eyes,

you make me seem like the villian,

with you as just the helpless victim,

you think you can dominate my life,

you think you can beat me down,

you think that your love is helping me,

but everything you think is wrong,

what you tell everyone is lies,

and I am the one holding the truth,

I am not afraid to speak anymore,

and I am bidding my time,

waiting for the moment to be heard,

so everyone can see you for who you really are,

my story will be heard,

you can not silence me forever,

I have a mouth and I have a mind,
