Washing Away
Dark sky and pouring rain,
surround me as I walk,
soaking through my clothes,
I can feel the cold,
but I am too tired to care,
my mind is swimming with thoughts,
focusing on a past I wish I could change,
a life I wish I could save,
a friend I wish would come back,
but there are no miracles here tonight,
the memory of his face haunts my mind,
the sound of his laugh rings in my ears,
the sight of his beautiful blue eyes dance across my own,
I can almost feel his presence,
holding me tight,
like he would be now if he was here,
sorrow fills my heart,
tears fall from my eyes,
lost in these memories,
but the rain brings me back,
washing away the tears,
washing away his face,
washing away everything that was once the most amazing person,
gone away from my life,
no October will ever be the same,
since he is gone.
