vacation vacation

Well I’m in Jersey. It’s been an interesting trip to say the least. The drive here, while the traffic was fine, was hell because when I was in MD a huge pipe came flying off a truck and smashed into the windshield and shattered it on the passenger side. I called my insurance company while I was driving and got an appt to get the windshield fixed same day. $500 later! The windshield was fixed. So just in case anyone was wondering…. a windsheild for a 2009 Santa Fe is $727 to replace! Ugh… what a way to stay my vacation. And it figures, the first time I drive to Jersey without Chris and this is the shit that happens. But it was just the windshield and not any of the SUV so I’m happy about that.

Nicholai’s birthday party went great. About half the people that I invited came and that was more then I thought. He did really well. He loved playing with the balloons and he LOVED the icing on his little birthday cupcake. He got a ton of clothes which he needed cause last winter he was 4-6 months old so he has nothing for winter. And the clothes are so cute. Hub’s best friend came to the party and in the end we all ended up talking, John and his gf Erin, the MIL and me… and the MIL complained about Chris and how he doesn’t contact her or call her. She doesn’t wake up until late and the few times that he tried to call she didn’t answer the phone. She complained that he doesn’t write her emails, but then she doesn’t write him either… it’s a 2 way road but she doesn’t seem to see it that way. And she is all bent out of shape about Chris maybe having to kill someone…. come on it’s wartime. That could happen and though I think that Chris might be upset about it…. I don’t think it would change him the way things changed Rob. I mean of course you will never know until it happens. She is just overthinking it. And she kept bringing up that Chris joined behind her back…. um… he joined cause you were charging an arm and a leg for rent and he didn’t think he would be able to afford to go to school so he joined the military. Maybe if she told him that crazy rent she was charging was for him to go to school he wouldn’t of joined. But whatever.

Vacation has been interesting since my ex Matt is here…. he just got out of the Navy. And since his apartment isn’t open until the beginning of September he is living at my parents place. It isn’t awkward, just weird. He is the only ex that I actually get along with but Chris is having issues with it. He doesn’t like Matt being around me or Nicholai… the issues with his ex wife cheating on him are coming out. He hasn’t really talked to me about it… but whatever. I figure he will either talk to me about it or not. I don’t know.

Things were weird when we were talking today. I don’t know. Whatever.

I can’t wait for 2012. Once hubs gets back from this deployment he is going to be home for about 5 months and then he will turn around and deploy again. He will miss Nicholai’s 2nd birthday, he will miss my birthday, he will miss another Christmas. Whatever. Screw the Army. I’m a strong Army wife and all but screw this back to back deployment shit. I’m over it already and we are barely through the first one. Whatever.

Ok… enough complaining. Back to vacation.
