so much to do still
Ok… this isn’t exactly true, I don’t hit 31 weeks until tomorrow but its close enough. I can’t believe that I am 31 weeks tomorrow. That means I have 6-9 more weeks left and we haven’t even started on the nursery yet….. don’t have half of the things that we need. I had a baby shower today in NC. Yeah… there were 5 people that actually showed up. The night before Marissa and Mark came by and gave us a bag with 5 recieving blankets, 2 hooded towels, a 66 pack of size 1 Swaddlers and a 231 refill of unscented wipes. I love it all, too bad they didn’t come to the shower. At the shower we got a blanket, but my friend is paying to get it monogramed with the baby’s name and birth date, and a bib, 6 pairs of newborn socks, and a grooming kit. It was nothing like the shower that I had in NJ with my family, but I still had a good time. It just means that there is a lot left that we need to get. I sat down and went through all the things that we have and then the things that we still need… this is our list of things that we still need
- monitor
- first aid kit
- body wash
- shampoo
- baby oil
- alcohol swabs
- diaper ointment
- vaseline
- newborn diapers
- wipes container
- travel wipes
- sunshade for other side of the car
- swing
- bouncy chair
- tummy time mat
- pack n play
- crib
- changing table
- dresser
- crib mattress
- mattress pads
- mattress cover
- fitted crib sheets
- changing table pad
- basket/storage bins
- books
- toys (like rattles and such)
- nursing bras
- nursing shirts
- disposable nursing pads
- breast cream
- boppy with couple covers
- breastfeeding shawl
- bottles
- bottle brush
So yeah…. we have a lot that we still need and then some things that we will need down the line that are needed right away. We are planning on starting the nursery in July and I hope it won’t take us longer then a month to finish it, get everything that we need and have everything, including the bags that will go with us to the hospital ready. I don’t know how its all going to get done. Allison and Eric are coming down mid July and I know that she is going to get a kick out of helping us get things ready. She is so excited about being an aunt so we are going to hold off on doing the major shopping until they get here…. I am just getting antsy. I think that nesting instinct is kicking in because all I want to do is go out and buy everything and set it all up. We still have time, but with everything else that is going on its just going to be really busy. Hubby has a lot of ranges coming up, he needs to jump still. He is planning on taking leave while Allison and Eric are here so we will be able to get a lot done, but I still just want to get going with all of this. I am so ready to just have this baby already so I can hold the little one in my arms….
This week I am finally getting my permanent crown put on. I will be so glad to have it done…. this is the 3rd time that I’ve had to go back for this tooth and I am just ready to be done with it all.
I found out that I passed my sugar test so no gestational diabetes for me. I am growing perfectly according to my OB so this baby should be around 3 pounds right now and is kicking the crap out of me most of the time. Its getting harder and harder to sleep and stay asleep. I have to pee all the time and sleeping through the night just isn’t possible. Ugh…. and the heat is killing me. It was 102 here today…. and its only the end of June. But all in all I can’t complain…. its Litha today… summer solstice so in a way it was fitting for it to be 102 and sunny. Summer is saying I’m here with a vengence lol. So blessed Litha.
Oh… and 1 week from today… hubby and I will have been married 1 year
… don’t be afraid, sometimes they come true! … music is my life

Just wanted to let you know that while I know it’s VERY exciting to buy all that stuff…Some of it is a waste of money that you can put into other things for that princess. Like a changing table.I have two kids and I had a changing table with my first..it was in the nusery..I NEVER USED IT. During the day I was down staies in the living roomand was not walking ALL the way to his room and at night

I was not getting out of my bed..so I would change him then feed him all while laying in my bed. So after he was about 4 months I sold it to the second hand store along with the pad and extra covers and I got a REALLY nice tummy time pad..So just some things to think about. If you have a dresser in her room you can just use that. Good luck also I’m an Army wife with two kids married to a Drill Sgt

Found you on random; agree with 1st noter. Im on my 3rd…buy only the necessities first. Crib, mattress, carseat, diapers, bathing needs, etc. Buy toys as they get older! Good Luck!!

I would definitely check craigslist for any of the big items that you need or want…you can find alot on there and for really good prices!!!

I’m with the first noter. I had a changing table with angela and most of the time the pad was in the living room. Mine was a dress convert and I converted it almost right away. If you really think you need one go that way so it doesn’t cost as much in the long run and you get the most use out of it!

ryn: yay! a fellow true blood fan! these 1st two episodes of the 2nd season have been pretty intense, I can’t wait for Sunday nights now! oh, and yes my placenta is upfront, directly behind my belly button. Dr. told me that it would be like kicking through a pillow so every kick would feel muffled if I felt it at all. I was hoping once she got bigger I’d feel something, but nothing yet 🙁
