Lost to the Forest

There is a little girl alone in the woods,

it is dark and she is scared,

she calls out for someone to find her,

no response, just the noises of the forest,

the wind picks up,

the rain falls,

the little girl looks for a trail, there are none,

she looks for a house, there isn’t one,

she hears the howling of wolves, she runs,

screaming through the forest, running as fast as she can,

but there is no way out,

there is no where safe to hide,

she falls to the ground crying,

she knows she is lost forever,

the forest has claimed another.
